12-oz. can poured into a Maui Brewing shaker. Appearance is that of strong coffee with a half-finger, very uniform dark beige head. Muddled nose of cinnamon, baker’s chocolate, cloves, prunes, and a touch of chili. Flavor is bittersweet at first with chocolate, cinnamon, and agave syrup notes before a faint ester note emerges. The chipotle comes through on the aftertaste with a moderate tongue-prickling heat, but it doesn’t lend much spice to the taste. Silky texture, light body, and low carbonation with a spicy finish that carries for quite a while. It’s worth trying but doesn’t surpass very many of the other similar chocolate-chili stouts I’ve tried. 5000 (6862) - Hardened Liver, Washington, USA - AUG 11, 2013
can:   Nearly black, thin sudsy beige head, little lacing.   Sweet roasted malt nose, some chocolate, perhaps even a little bit of pepper.   Sweet roastiness first, sweet pepper second, a touch of cinnamon last.
This is tasty!   Brings me back a little to when I had Morning Brunch, except that was twice the beer this is (sorry Maui).   Body and mouthfeel are moderate.   Roasty, chocolaty, with some minor pepper and even more minor
cinnamon on the finish.   I bet this on Nitro would be fun! MrHangover (4552) - Den Haag, NETHERLANDS - AUG 24, 2013
Can @ Dean’s Birthday tasting, courtesy of zer0. Pours a very dark, almost black beer with a small biege head on top. Faint aroma of licorice, chocolate and Belgian yeastiness. Flavour is medium sweet, light alcoholic and malty. Short finish and a quite watery body. Decent. timfoolery (1126) - California, USA - OCT 19, 2013
Taster at Whole Lotta Brews Going On at Whole Foods in Folsom. Aroma and flavor has a good amount of bittersweet chocolate and very light chili. Palate has great carbonation and overall mouthfeel. Nice beer. hopscotch (11101) - Vero Beach, Florida, USA - DEC 5, 2013
Can... Murky dark brown ale with a small, fizzy, fleeting, khaki head. The nose is a lush marriage of vanilla and milk chocolate. Medium-bodied with a creamy mouthfeel and soft carbonation. The flavor is full of carbonic roastiness, but is otherwise mostly bland. Finishes minerally and a touch acrid. Bottle courtesy of darkguardian!

12/26/2013. From can. Black with a beige head. Roasted malt aromas with spices and chocolate. Flavors are rich, bitter, but with some acidity that throws it off balance. onceblind (9663) - Denver, Colorado, USA - JAN 9, 2014
Black pour with a thin kahki head. Nose is a bit spicy and chocolaty--not spicy like heat, but like earthy cinnamon and herbal tones, with some raw cocao nibbs and a bit of roast. The flavor is a bit light but the body is mostly full, good roasted barley tones with a mild chocolaty sweetness, ending with a touch of earthy notes and some cinnamon. Not too keen on it overall, it’s chocolaty but earthy-bitter. saxo (18301) - Højbjerg, Aarhus, DENMARK - FEB 17, 2014
