This what i describe as a’’flat cocacola’’ beer. Looks beautiful. Pretty tight on the nose. Taste is however packed with flavour. Distinct charred notes. Smooth finish with a slight bitterness. Medium bodied. JohnGalt1 (1721) - Boise, Idaho, USA - MAR 5, 2013
"Belgian Stout" should really be a category here on RB.
12oz can picked up at Bier Thirty in Bown over the weekend... Poured into my HotD goblet.
1/2" dark brown head dies back very quickly leaving little in the way of a head or a cap... the brew is black.
The nose is pretty full.. dark chocolate, light roast malt, some lesser cinnamon and something that I guess is chipotle.. slightly smokey and possibly chili’eque.
Not much in the way of any thing contributed from any Belgian yeast... a bit of clovey phenols, but I could be confusing that for the cinnamon.. Dark malt/chocolate deliver the main palate punch... cinnamon is fighting to stay afloat, the chipotle has an even more difficult time.. the chili only shows a a minor smokiness.
Body is a medium/light with a light carbonation and a light carbonation... sorta silky on the palate...
Despite my above negatives, this is a pretty decent beer... It just needs more of everything in the aroma and flavor to take it to the next level.

Pours black with a light brown creamy, rocky head with little lacing. Aromas of dark chocolate, toasted nut, peppers and hints of coconut. Smooth flavors with a fairly medium body but a bit thin and watery. AxlLives (288) - Maryland, USA - APR 1, 2013
12 oz can - pours jet black, with medium tan head, mostly diminishing. Aromas of toasted nuts, bit charred, bitter chocolate, coffee, and sour fruit. Thin bodied, taste is cooked nuts, coffee and little bit of lactose. Stout, not imperial or impressive. adnielsen (10601) - Fort Collins, Colorado, USA - APR 13, 2013
Canned @ home picked up at 287 Liquor Fort Collins. Pours a clear, deep brown appearance with a brown head. Rich dark chocolate, mild veggie, chili pepper, mild anise, dark fruity aroma. Fairly high carbonation. Cinnamon, vanilla, chili pepper, plum, dark grape, chocolate flavor. I’m not a huge fan of Belgian stouts, but this is ok.

Very tasty Belgian stout. Unique flavors that compliment the aromas. Let me turn down the thermostat and enjoy. radagast83 (8006) - Alexandria, Virginia, USA - MAY 18, 2013
12oz can. Poured a dark black color with a small tan head. Aroma is roasted chocolates, dark malts, touch of dried fruits, pepper notes, cinnamon and a little cocoa. Flavor is roasted notes, malts, touch of light pepper heat in there, with cinnamon and a long lasting chocolate notes. Not nearly as enjoyable as I had hoped, but okay. ben4321 (6391) - Hoboken, New Jersey, USA - AUG 9, 2013

Aroma: The nose is heavy spice and roasted malts, some coffee, chocolate, and a little fruit
Appearance: It pours a murky dark brown color with a small tan head that leaves mild lace
Flavor: The taste is roasty and smokey with lots of spice and some mild sweetness
Palate: The body is medium, it has plus carbonation, and a long tingly/spicy finish
There were something about this one that worked really well for me and other’s that didn’t work quite as well. The spice is almost overpowering, which detracts from the flavor a bit, but overall, it is still a solid brew.
Can. Pours dark brown. Aroma is liquorice, chocolate and some spiciness. Taste is medium bitter. Light body and watery texture.
