Pours a thick, opaque, black with a large, lasting, foamy brown-sugar head. Aroma of cinnamon, mild chile, subtle dark chocolate. Flavor of roasted malt, chocolate dialed up a bit, cinnamon quite subtle, and Belgian yeast contributing only subtly. The mix of flavors is really nice, nothing overpowers. Excellent. Strong herb filled aroma accompanied by chocolate. Black in color with a thin foam rim. Unique, well rounded flavors of cocoa, chile’s and black patent malt upfront. Undertones of herbs, cinnamon, brown sugar, toffee and other funky unidentifiable flavors. Overall, very complex flavor with strong alcohol and chocolate notes. I’d give this an A rating. 12 ounce can into a brandy snifter thanks to errl. Pours a dark brown with a tan head of foam. Very good retention. Aroma has dark bitter chocolate, some smoke, ginger, licorice, toast, and leather. Taste is more on the dark, roasty, bitter side. Long, dry finish that leaves a roasty note on the tongue that shows no sign of leaving quickly. Earthy. Nicely done.
