Bar, Copenhagen (Aug 8th, 2011). Hazy orangeish amber colour with a mediumsized slightly off-white head, that vanishes quite quickly. Aroma is mild toasted malts, some caramel, grass and mild chocolaty and nutty notes. Flavour is similar with some grassy and floral hops kicking in in the aftertaste. Pleasantly balanced Amber Ale.
On tap. Hazy amber with an off-white head that leaves some lacework. Distinct caramel nose. Medium-bodied, again distinct caramellish malts that are quickly balanced by a dry hoppiness. 070811

Pours clear red amber with a medium, staying, creamy, off-white head. Good duration and nice lacings. Aroma is fairly sweet, some mild resiny hops, light strawberry, quite some caramel. Medium carbonation, a bit light but grainy mouthfeel. Flavour is mild, fairly sweet, some mild cardboard, caramel, light fruity and red berry notes. Lingering malty and piney dry hoppy finish. Not the best of the Maui beers on display.
Chopp. Brown reddish colour. Beige like small head. Aroma is sweet with well toasted caramel, dark fruity like, dark malty. Good mouthfeel. Sweet flavour: well toasted caramel and malt, bit chocolate like with dark fruits.

Location: Draft at the Brewpub, 7/6/12
Aroma: The nose is faint and malty, with some caramel and a little bit of bread
Appearance: This one pours a clear golden-amber without much head or lace atop it
Flavor: The taste is average sweet, with mostly malty notes that are pretty similar to the nose
Palate: The body of this one is pretty light, and a little watery, overall, this one just feels kind of dull
This was probably my least favorite offering thus far from all the things I sampled at the Maui Brewpub. It wasn’t terrible, or highly flawed, it just felt a little dull.
The nose is of powdery chocolate and is very faint. Hints of bitterness and a heap of nuttiness join the aroma once it is in the mouth.
