(draught) cloudy deep ruby-brown with creamy tan head. Nose of black cherry juice, cream, raisin, wet cardboard, port, Belgian yeast and star anise. Taste is more toasty than I’d imagine, cherries, fairly sweet, paper pulp, cream, raisin and dates with some spice elements. Creamy body and mild alcohol kick. Better as it warms.

Draft. Deep amber with a crewam head. Alcohol, sweet fruits, rich malts, and sherry? Nice on the palate, flavors are caramel, dried fruits, faint alcohol finish.

On draught at the brewpub (as "Father Damien"), served in a snifter. The beer is a dark brown color with some ruddy highlights. Medium thin light beige head that recedes steadily to a film. Thin rings of lacing on the glass. Rich malty aroma with some dark fruit notes. Medium to full body with a malty character and flavors of dark fruit, molasses and yeast. The finish is malty with a lingering yeast and caramel aftertaste. Pretty good overall.

On tap at Maui brewing; amber color with aroma of plum and cherry. The taste was quite sweet, strong berry notes with the noticeable alcohol finish. Overall, OK beer but compared to true Belgium beers, it does not compete

Labeled "Father Damien’s..." at O’Brien’s. Hazy copper brown with no head. High sweet nose with a light hint of vinegar. Taste big thick and strong. More crafty, much better, than I expected.

Draft at Stone Bistro. Dark reddish amber pour, off-white head. Dark fruits, raisins, toffee, sweet malt, light spice, and Belgian yeast. Fairly nice beer, I wouldn’t seek it out to hard though.

Sample at Maui Brewing in Lahaina. Pours a thick brown with a thin beige head. Aroma has some dusty quality, aged fruit, mildly roasted with some spice. Flavour of candied sugar, raisins, dates, some spice. Wow! This is impressive and, again, may have gotten extra points for being such an unexpected treat in hot and humid Maui. Worth finding.
