Sample at Maui Brewing in Lahaina. Pours a thick brown with a thin beige head. Aroma has some dusty quality, aged fruit, mildly roasted with some spice. Flavour of candied sugar, raisins, dates, some spice. Wow! This is impressive and, again, may have gotten extra points for being such an unexpected treat in hot and humid Maui. Worth finding. madmitch76 (25568) - , Essex, ENGLAND - JAN 17, 2010

On tap at Strong Ale Festival VIP Session. Poured a dark ruby. Aroma of cherry and yeasty bread. Really just average in every way imaginable. WeeHeavySD (3387) - Portland, Oregon, USA - DEC 7, 2008
Tap at Strong Ale 2008. Pours reddish brown aka amber, with a tan ring. Nose is sweet and rich. Taste is sweet and rich and interesting. More sweet than malty. hopdog (13102) - Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 7, 2008
On tap at the 2008 Strong Ale Festival. Poured a medium and lightly hazy amber color with a small sized off white head. Aromas of burnt sugar, citrus, and fruity. Tastes of the same burnt sugar, citrus, and a little roasty.

yeasty, bubblegumy nose with some hottness and some cherry twizzler. nice looking red-tinted dark burnt amber, the halo settling in a thin ring. yeast, bubblegum, and candi sugar flavors and some overall hotness. the hotness, yeastiness and sweetness combine cloyingly. Tap at brewery: Chestnut hue. Smooth, creamy-soft texture. Malts were earthy, sweet (Belgian candi sugar flavors), and sticky. Alcohol was big and warming. Aromas were pleasant. Delicate flowers, spices (clove), herbs and fruit (pear, banana and big cherry right in the finish). On the sweet end of the spectrum. Enjoyable beer. Very well done, surpirsing choice of style considering the brewery is on a island some 10,000 miles away from Belgium! Like Trappiest Achel 8, very much in the hints of plum and ripe berries. Good malt balance - robust and delicious. bu11zeye (13215) - Frisco (Dallas), Texas, USA - NOV 6, 2007
(Draught) Pours a murky brown body with a moderate beige head. Aroma of mustiness, plum, light toastiness, cherry, and light spices. Flavor of dates, raisins, candi sugar, faint wheat, and coriander. Frauditor (162) - Hagerstown, Maryland, USA - JUL 14, 2007
great job by the Maui brewing co. on this one. Full of fruit tones and a nice dusting of malts. thick frothy head which provides nice lacing. quite enjoyable. drank this at the maui brewing company brewpub.
