Draft at brewpub. Dark brown with a really nice head. Nice lacing too. Dark fruit aromas with roasty malled nose. Flavors were similar with a decent warming finish. Pretty good ElGaucho (2401) - Minnetonka, Minnesota, USA - FEB 21, 2007
Draught. Wheat aroma with some banana. Not really Belgian in quality. Very cloudy dark yellow/light orange. Thin white ring. Very lively carbonatoin. Banana wheat. served too warm. Nice flavor. Too spritzy. Not bad. Needs to be colder. Could use a slice of orange. TheBeerGod (6216) - Newport News, Virginia, USA - OCT 21, 2006
GABF 2006. Reddish amber. Small tanned head. Nose is dried fruits, some candyish notes, Belgian yeast, flowers and some spice. Taste is much the same. More fruit, yeast spices, and sweet malts. Again some candyish notes and a touch of alcohol. Body is medium with abundant carbonation. Finishes with more of the fruit notes, dustier yeast, flowers, and sweet doughy malts. Not bad! pineypower (3325) - Ocean County, New Jersey, USA - OCT 13, 2006
They just tapped an 05 reserve when I was there....lucky me. Pours out a ruby hued brown color with a thin white head. Aroma is earthy with some notes of fruit and spice. There is an initial taste of apple with some cinamon and nutmeg. Finishes strong with alcohol. Very solid beer guess a year in a cellar did it good. tiggmtl (4545) - East York, Ontario, CANADA - DEC 8, 2005
Fruity, yeasty, doughlike aroma with plenty of alcohol apparent. Clear, deep golden body is topped with a low, white head that recedes to ring. Strong, berry-like fruitiness with bubblegum esters also apparent and plenty of alcohol in the flavour. Medium body feels a bit thin, with lively carbonation and strong alcohol warming. Sampled at GABF 2005.

tap at brewpub. Served in a large wine goblet with a very long stem. The glass seems too delicate for this beer, but the beer does look good in the bowl. Appears brown & hazy...looks bronzen upon further inspection...head is off-white, dying, but stickinga bit to the glass...Aroma says "westmalle" yeast to me...figgy & chocolate aroma with some phenolic spice...also some element of honey...drinks sweet, w/ raisin and yeast...alcohol warming at the end. Lush beer. A real treat to find a local brewed Belgian-style while in HI, and its well-done at that...some banana comes through as it warms. Creamy and frothy sheet of foam over a medium brown pour. Cookie laden maltiness is victim to lots of sweetening candi sugar. Leafy and minty hops contribute more spiciness than balancing dryness, while the phenolic, medicinal yeast prefers to add fruitiness to the mix (pear, mango) rather than having any hard work (attenuation) done. Oaky, bubble gummy liquorous medium body. Quite slick and very sweet, if not cloying, yet managing to propose a considerable bitterness despite the low aromatics. Weirdly balanced. Pour is light golden amber with thin off white head...smell is sweet with anise, yeast, molasses, brown sugar...taste is overly sweet and watery...sticky cloying finish...
