COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
India Pale Ale was developed in Burton, England, as a "Super-Premium" hoppy pale ale around 1800. The extra strength in alcohol and hops helped preserve the beer on its long export journeys to India and beyond. The style developed a following worldwide. Its flavor begins with a smooth, malty creaminess followed with a big burst of dry-hop flavor from English Kent Golding Hops. It then finishes with a lingering yet pleasant bitterness.

Big Swell IPA is a fresh handcrafted India Pale Ale brewed with huge amounts of American hops and malted barley...dry hopped to perfection!

UPDATED: SEP 5, 2013 Keg (05/09/2013) Rating 5: Marvellous on keg in Vintage, Edinburgh, Scotland... This is a beautiful beer at any time but its truly remarkable on tap! Cloudy orange body, sweet malty hop aroma, can pick up the dry hop on nose, really thick on the nose & tongue, sweetness woven throughout the dry hop which peters of to a grainy dry finish, very drinkable, very smooth, complex caramel like sweetness on the tongue alongside generous dry hop throughout gives a complex and very drinkable beer! So different from can, it truly needs to be tasted if you can find it! Can (21/12/2012) Rating 4.4: A very enjoyable beer... hops filled up to the heavens but not very bitter, a smooth taste and a fruity highlighted aroma... this really is a swell beer!

UPDATED: AUG 15, 2015 12oz can to cervoise. Pours unfiltered cloudy orange, BIG creamy off-white head. Strong aroma of grapefruit and other tropicals. Nose is sweet, caramel malty. Finish is super bitter and acidic with nice light semi-oily mouthfeel. Flavor sticks. Great blend. Great IPA!

UPDATED: JAN 17, 2013 355ml cans from Appellation Wines & Hoppo Beers. Amber peach colour, big head. Flowery perfume hop aroma & flavour. Quite light for an IPA. Wish it came in a bottle.

Intense pine, resin, citrus nose. Amber/orange/gold. Great malt sweetness balanced by hoppy bitterness. One of the better IPAs out there. The aroma is intense and is present in every sip...another great beer from Maui Brewing.

Aroma - hops, heavy citrus, floral; Appearance - light copper, slightly hazy, fluffy head, laces nicely; Taste - very balanced front, sweet hop tang blends well throughout the back, finish has a long but not overpowering bitterness; Palate - smooth especially for the style, excellent body; Overall - well built, great in all aspects, one of the best IPAs I’ve ever had.
