COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our Coconut Porter is a classic robust porter spiced with all natural toasted coconut. It is black in color and crowned with a creamy, dark tan head. It begins with a malty-toasted-coconut aroma followed by a rich, silky mouthfeel with tastes of dark malt, chocolate, and hints of coffee. It then finishes with flavors of toasted coconut and hoppy spice to balance the finish.

12oz can from beverages 4 less. a very nice looking beer that pours dark brown with a thick, creamy, khaki head and sticky lacing. aroma is very nice with dark, roasted malts, milk chocolate, ripe banana, and a hint of smoke with subtle notes of coconut cream pie filling and graham cracker. flavor is delicious with big notes of chocolate covered banana, toasted pumpernickel malts, and mild coffee backed by slightly sweet coconut extract (like coco-lopez), vanilla, and and light roast leaving a smooth, bittersweet finish. palate is medium bodied with solid carbonation and is extremely drinkable. overall, an damn nice porter with a very well executed use of coconut.

Black with a small tan head. Aroma is rich with chocolate and coffee, and a little bit of spice. Flavor is crisp, dry, malty bitterness. Very fizzy, which I think takes a bit away from the flavor. Very good nonetheless. Its a very rich, and well balanced porter.

Thanks to Mrbunn. Poured black with nice beige head. Nose is roasted malt and taste is chocolate up front then coconut going down. Really nice brew, would love to try this again. Coconut isnt as noticeable as one might think. This was a really enjoyable smooth porter. Good stuff.

The coconut really doesnt hit you till about half way through the sip, and it provides a nice sweetness to this nicely dry but overly burnt porter. The malty bitterness isnt balanced by the coconut, more it gives you something nice in the aftertaste. Not a great beer, but if the brewer makes the same recipie without the coconut, I would pass on that one.

Ive been waiting awhile to rate this, but now that I live in Portland I can pick this stuff up at a pizza shop! The pour produces a silken espresso color with a dense, frothy mocha head. The nose is that of a mild porter with oatmeal, lightly roasted malts, milk chocolate, creme de la banana and fruity bubblegum yeast. The flavour is just as the nose suggests as it warms. Notes of vanilla bean, cocoa, banana (coconut?), smoke and minor soy notes. I think the coconut must blend so seamlessly that it isnt detectable on its own. This basically just tastes like a pretty good porter that is heavy on vanilla and light estery flavours. The mouthfeel is characterized by sharp carbonation and a silken, long finish that is slightly drying with minimal hop bite.

Dark and dry roasty aroma, toasted yes, but no discernible coconut. Creamy body, chalky base, milk chocolate middle.

A black beer with a small head. Aroma of roasted malt-very hard roasted, nutty, toasted coconut. The taste is roasted with some nuttiness while I taste more chocolate than coconut.

This just seems like the type of beer you would best enjoy relaxing on the coast line of a white sandy beach.

12oz. Can: Aroma of malt, chocolate, coconut, light roasting, fudge, and a hint of alcohol. Poured dark brown in color with a small to medium-sized, creamy, dense, tan head that diminished but lasted throughout. Opaque. Flavor is slightly sweet and light to medium bitter. Tastes of malts, chocolate, roasting, bitter coffee, slight wood, and a hint of coconuts. Medium body. Slightly tingly, then dry texture. Average carbonation. Slightly sweet, lightly bitter, malt, roasting, light chocolate finish is dry. Very easy drinking.

thanks to BAs Mikeyv35 for sending this in a trade. pours dark brown with minimal head and visible carbonation. nose is light spice and heavy coconut, maybe a hint of vanilla also. taste is heavy coconut, but not overwhelming. also get a little nuttiness. this is a great beer that is reminiscing of my trip to jamaica, where they served roasted coconut pieces at the bars. more please.
