COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our Coconut Porter is a classic robust porter spiced with all natural toasted coconut. It is black in color and crowned with a creamy, dark tan head. It begins with a malty-toasted-coconut aroma followed by a rich, silky mouthfeel with tastes of dark malt, chocolate, and hints of coffee. It then finishes with flavors of toasted coconut and hoppy spice to balance the finish.

I like this beer. The smell is coconut, roasty, malts, coffee, and chocolate. The look is dark, black in color, with an ok beige colored head. The taste is roasty, malts, cofffee, and chocolate.

Dark chestnut brown body, garnet-brown at edges. thin fluffy/foamy tall dark tan head. aroma is roasted malty sweetened toasted coconut flakes, sweet molasses, and toffee malt. flavor is more of the same - sweet roasted coconut flakes, caramel/toffee roasted malt, some chocolate malt, and then a little dryness of hops but not so much bitter. warming finish and some bubblegum. aftertaste is dryish/warming again. Thanks for this MarkChev!

UPDATED: MAR 3, 2010 On tap at brewpub in Maui and in can at home. Dark brown pour with a rich, creamy tan head.. Aroma is roast malts, coffee, and a nice hint of coconut. Taste is incredible...beautiful blend for a porter. I love the way the coconut lingers after each sip. Wonderful beer, wish I could get it on the east coast.

Got this from Joe P. when he went to Hawaii to get married. Thanks Joe! Pours a dark brown with a light brown head, mostly diminishing, excellent lacing. The aroma is a slightly roasted hay, chocolate and coffee in the background. the body is creamy, some bitter and then ends dry. Not bad, probably sat on it too long.

Cola body, highly carbonated with a huge puffy browned head. Not much coconut on first whiff, but some roastiness. Flavor improves upon the aroma with a medium roastiness, chocolate notes and an apparent absence of roast bittterness. Quite clean. A pinch of coconut dreams on the finish add a pleasant complexity.

Great appearance with black color that remains black when held to light. Head is a light tan color and has plenty of thickness and resilience long after the initial pour. Nose is also very appetizing with some soft coconut, roasted malt, and a whiff of hop character in the background. On the palate the flavors are a little subdued, with a thin, watery body, and not as much roasty flavors or coconut that the nose suggested I would find. Easy drinking though, but not the beer I expected based on the nose.

UPDATED: AUG 26, 2010 Can from the ABC store on Kaanapali Beach. Dark brown pour with a rich, creamy tan foam that bubbles away slowly. Aroma is roast malts, coffee, and an extreme blast of coconut. Taste is pina colada, coffee and roast malts wrapped together in an uneasy blend of strangeness. Im unsure as to how I feel about it. I can respect the quality brewmaking present here, but I just cant get on board with this. The coconut is a little bit too overpowering, and more than a little off-putting.

Pours a dark rich brown color with a brown head. Aroma is caramel, roast, sweet coconut, chocolate, earthy hops, and some alcohol. Flavor is caramel, toast, roast, sweet coconut, chocolate, and a bitter earthy finish.

Can. I was bummed that my Hawaii trip got canceled so I was very happy to come across this can! Pours an oily near black/brown, creamy. Aroma is very pleasant, strong porter notes, coffee, roast, light coconut. Flavor follows, creamy dark chocolate, light coffee with plenty of coconut water flavor, definitely a slick coconut water feel. Medium bodied, creamy, smooth, wonderful!
