COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Double Overhead IPA is a fresh handcrafted double IPA featuring copious amounts of hops. Laden with hops from begining to end and not overly bitter, it’s hop aromas and flavours give hints of Guava, Passion Fruit, and orange spice which blend well with the silky malt flavours. "Big braddah to the Big Swell IPA"

Blind tasted with 4 other Triple IPAs IPAs were: 1. Maui Brewing Double Overhead IPA 2. Sierra Nevada Hoptimum 2017 3. Miskatonic Epilogue 4. Lost Coast Fogcutter Double IPA 5. 2SP Bellcracker. Rater 1 rated the beers: 14 35 TIE 2 Rater 2 (Me) rated the beers 41325.

355ml can. Lightly hazed amber gold pour. Aroma is bittersweetness herbs and citrus. Caramel. Falvor is bitter, resinous, piney, candylike. Decent for its strength.

Post tasting thoughts:
This was one of the better ones in the taasting due to its lack of booziness.

12 ounce can into tulip glass, canned on 5/9/2017. Pours lightly hazy/cloudy deep golden/yellow color with a 2 finger fairly dense and fluffy off white head with good retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Thick foamy lacing clings around the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, peach, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, guava, lemon zest, orange peel, light pepper, pine, cracker, bread, light honey, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of citrus/fruity/tropical/pine hops and moderate pale malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, peach, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, guava, lemon zest, orange peel, light pepper, pine, cracker, bread, light honey, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Moderate pine, citrus peel, grassy, spicy bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, peach, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, guava, lemon/orange peel, pepper, pine, cracker, bread, light honey, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Great complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical/pine hops and moderate pale malt flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance, and zero lingering hop astringency after the finish. Moderate dryness from lingering bitterness, increasing through the glass. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderate crisp, bready/grainy/sticky, and lightly resinous balanced mouthfeel that is great. Zero warming alcohol for 8.5%. Overall this is an excellent DIPA! All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical/pine hops and moderate pale malt flavors; very smooth, crisp, and pretty refreshing to drink; with the balanced bitter/drying finish. Very dank, vibrant, and juicy on hops; just enough malt to balance the bitterness. Tastes pretty much identical to Big Swell; but a bit more bitter and less malty(despite the higher ABV). A very enjoyable offering.

Poured hazy copper color with an average frothy off-white head that mostly lasted with excellent lacing. Moderate to heavy complex west coast aroma. Moderate to heavy bittersweet flavor with a moderate to heavy citrus bittersweet finish of moderate to long duration. Medium to full body with a slick texture and soft carbonation. Very good brew.

Sample at GABF 10/08/2016, thanks to my sis for assistance with note-taking. The beer is a hazy golden color with a medium white head that dissipates steadily. Stringy lacing. Tropical fruit, hops and malt in the nose. Medium to full body with flavors of floral hops, tropical fruits and malt. The finish is moderately bitter with a fruity hops aftertaste. Pretty good overall.

greg244 (24) - Barcelona, SPAIN - AUG 18, 2016
The beer pours out a hazy golden yellow body, pillowy white airy head. Aroma comes out somehow with a wheat/citrusy aroma. Flavor has a fruity/melon note to it, light sweetness and barely any noticeable hop character. Decent while cold, but kinda blech when it warmed up a tad.

3.7
ACHops (1566) - Seattle, Washington, USA - JUN 1, 2016
On tap @ Toronado Seattle. Pours hazy medium golden with thick creamy off-white head. Aroma is sweet light caramel malt; floral fruity hops on the back with notes of mango and passionfruit. Taste is assertive medium caramel malt; hops are dank, lightly earthy, substantial floral undertones with light citrus notes throughout. Clean finish with faint lingering bitterness. Not quite as good as Big Swell, but solid IIPA.
