Had this on tap at the 2010 Oregon Brewer’s Festival Buzz tent. Colour.... reddish-brown with no head. Nose... sweet with plenty of toffee, butterscotch and hints of Bourbon. On draft at Stone 14th Anniversary. Golden pour with nice head. Aroma was brown sugar, burnt caramel, and some whiskey. Taste was mild bourbon and sweet sugars. Mild carbonation. UPDATED: AUG 22, 2010 Sample at the Stone 14th. Rating# 3. Very clear copper pour with a dirty off-white head. Caramel malt was the dominating aroma. On tap at Brouwer’s Hard Liver ’12. Pours reddish orange. Bourbon-soaked fruit on the nose. Great balance, with just the right amount of bourbon coming through. Really nice.

Tap @ the brew pub. Pours a cloudy caramel brown with a small beige ring. Nose was bourbon dominate but not over the top. Some candied tree fruits and toffee in there as well. Finish was a little hot but pretty tasty overall. BrewDad (5328) - Olympia, Washington, USA - AUG 13, 2010
Oregon Brewers Festival – BuZZ Tent 2010 – Portland, OR
Dark amber in color thin head and clear as a bell. Big malt raisin aroma. Lots of alcohol and tons of spices. This was a big heavy strong beer for the day.

Sampled @ FoBaB 2010. Appearance is a clear, copper color. Moderate, malty aroma. Sherry notes with sweet caramel and some dark fruits. Taste is a light caramel, malty sweetness that is very well balanced by a the bourbon flavors in the finish. Mildly warming and hides the 11% very well. light body. Soft carbonation. On tap for Hard Liver ’12, pours a cloudy dark orange with a small beige head. Aroma of light bourbon, liqueur-covered fruits and toasted bread. Flavour of very pleasant wood / bourbon notes, vanilla, toffee and light hops. Light-bodied for a barley wine but very pleasant.
