Black color, small beige head. Lean body with just moderate sweetness; the chocolate component is very good, while the coconut is not too strong, although itís evident, mostly in the final.
Balanced and tasty.
On tap @ Growler Guys - Portland. Just about black in color with a tan head. Smells kind of like an Almond Joy. Dark chocolate, some toasted coconut, and a mild nuttiness. Good sweetness as well as some bitter coffee and roasted malts. Plenty of chocolate and a nice chewy coconut flavor. A little more body than the regular version. bhensonb (15098) - Woodland, California, USA - JAN 19, 2017
Capped 750 from Corti Bros. Pours dark brown with a significant foamy tan head. Aroma is not quite Mounds Bar, but itís certainly a near relation. Med ++ body. Flavor is oh so Mounds Bar. Woof! Ok. Itís oh so Woof! Someone just hit me with phaser on stun. This is luscious. The smooth dark malt elegantly supports the Mounds Bar. This is about as subtle as a brick. But itís very, very delicious. Itís not very dry, but the coconut seems to stand in for balance. Stunning ale. Ferris (15027) - Burnaby, British Columbia, CANADA - SEP 1, 2015
Draft - Deep dark chocolate and molasses notes with a touch of sweet coconut. Jet black with a rich brown head. Lots of nice roasty notes, dark chocolate, sweet coconut and a nice rich finish. Much like the original.

Bottle from Cap Tap. Pours near black with a modest tan head and a smoky aroma. There is a full-bodied dark molasses flavor with some chocolate and coconut. arminjewell (9585) - East Lansing, Michigan, USA - MAR 8, 2015
Pour on tap at Mayor of Old Town, thick black pour with tan head, aroma brought notes of nice cocoa, roast, and coffee notes with a hint of lactose, some ash into a slight toasted coconut note, slight metal. Taste was a mix of cocoa, slight coconut, toast into some ashy, metallic note, slight roast and coffee, finishing fairly sweet, slightly dry. A slight improvement from the base, but still could be better.
