"This red ale was nut and malt forward with light floral hops and a little tropical fruitiness (think pineapple) with caramel malt as well. Not too exciting, but ok." CamMoore (55) - Hawaii, USA - FEB 18, 2014
On tap @ Murphy's. Nice slightly piney aroma with good malt notes. White head with small bubbles. Didn't last very long. Rich copper brown color. Opens with good hop flavors, but not over powering. Nice rounded sweet malt flavor. Very drinkable beer.

On tap at Devilcraft, Tokyo. Part of the 17 or so Maui Brewpub beers on for a Maui Brewing event.
Good color, nice thick off white foam in the head.
Great hoppy aroma mixed with caramel from the crystal.
Flavour wise I like the hop fruitiness and pine in here and it blends well with the crystal caramel flavors. Don’t care for amber ales but do like American reds and this one promised to be good but the body is way too thin. I have a feeling this is a trademark of the Maui Brewpub beers. Halfway down it started to feel like a flavored water, rather than a beer. Good start but body is too thin and light to be satisfying. I assume this is designed as a thirst quencher on a sunny Hawaiian beach. TimE (5817) - Tokyo, JAPAN - AUG 22, 2011
dark amber color. Caramel, strawberries and lots of malt in the nose. Like hop head red but more malty. Full bodied. Decent stuff. KyotoLefty (10263) - Kyoto, JAPAN - AUG 17, 2011
Draught at Bashamichi Taproom. Glowing red-brown color with a pillowy head. Aroma of chocolate and dried fruits, caramel. Sweet caramel and fruit flavor with a bitter finish. Nice, not so interesting.

Sample at the brewpub. This brew pours a clear amber-red color with a thin light beige head that dissipates to a film. Stringy lacing on the glass. Hoppy aroma with some caramel malt notes. Medium body with flavors of citrusy hops, sweet malt and caramel. The finish is moderately bitter with a lingering hops aftertaste. Above average overall. Draft at Stone Bistro. Dark red pour, off-white head. Caramel malt, musty, citrus, and bitter hops. Fairly average, not much to say about this one. danielcurtis81 (1519) - San Diego, California, USA - MAR 16, 2010
Had on tap at the brewpub. Appearance is deep gold with just a slight hint of red. The flavors and aromas are solid with crisp and spicy hop flavors. There is a hint of cinnamon in there as well. The mouth is mildly bitter which makes it very refreshing. Very nicely done. Ratman197 (14834) - Arvada, Colorado, USA - SEP 28, 2009
On tap at Falling Rock poured a clear dark reddish amber with a lasting amber head. Aromas of carmel, earthiness, fruittiness and light pine. Palate was medium bodied and smooth. Flavors of carmel, fruittiness, earthiness and light pine with a smooth moderatly bitter finish. Alphadelic (2237) - Portland, Oregon, USA - MAR 18, 2009
Clear, deep brown with ruby hues. Sticky looking and creamy off-white head. Light chocolaty notes in the aroma but not too much else. Almost chocolaty with a light smokiness. Something toasted too. Not too bitter but nicely drying. Cereals come charging right at you. Smooth thick and still as seems to be the Maui style. Really interesting flavours, something I can’t quite place which is always welcome. (Hoppy, hoppy belches)
