I found a six pack of this on sale for 5.99, so I figure even if it is merely "drinkable" then I pretty much got a deal - pour is fizzy at first, but becomes headless - murky yellow - not very attractive - nose is strong lemon, lightly husky grains, lime juice, vitamin B complex (like that liquid shit you can buy in health food stores) - spritzy and soda like in the mouth - initially tastes like club soda mixed with lemon juice - some grain huskiness, a starchy quality - moderately sour, with a somewhat bitter and peppery finish - very messy, really - even at 5.99, it’s not much of a deal - I feel sorry for people that paid 15 bucks for this stuff - this will probably wind up sitting in the back of my fridge for a while.

Pale straw color with a white head. The aroma is full of wheat with some yeast, white pepper and grain. The flavor has some orange and lemongrass notes as well as some wheat, yeast, biscuit malt and pepper. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation.

Mostly eggs, sulfur, lemon grass, and wheat/hay on the nose. Pours hazy golden yellow, fizzy white head. Flavors of sulfur, citrus, hay, herbal notes, dust, and lemongrass. Herbal and sulfury, well carbonated. Could have been better.

Not the best saison ever, but it does offer a light summertime feel with hints of lemon and funk. It’s does have a fizzy sweetness but there does seem to be enough yeasty character to sustain the flavor. The body and finish is very light. I could drink this on a beach in Hawaii.

A wonderful barnyard aroma with suggestions of citrus. Pours a hazy bright light yellow with rapidly dissipating white head and no lacing. The taste is immediately barnyard, and citrus, followed, sadly, by a watery cardboard flavor. Light body with moderate carbonation. Overall, the aroma and nose set my expectations higher than the taste was able to provide. Not bad, but disappointing. Would have liked a crisper, drier finish.

Can from The Liquor Collection, Honolulu, August 2013. (rating 3200) Hazy yellow with a small white head. Quite a lot of spices in this one, lemongrass, citrus, yeast and fruit. Resfreshing and easy to drink. A solid summer beer.

355ml Can from Good Spirits Co, Glasgow (£4.20):
Lemon and citrus with some yeast along with some sweetness and a tiny hint of lemongrass but not as much as I had imagined.
Cloudy yellow/straw colour with a thin, half centimetre tall head that is very bubbly looking white colour.
Yeast backed up to a lesser extent by some citrus and a faint hint of sweetness. The beer is fairly standard for a saison with some spice and a slightly tarty taste.
Lots of carbonation,a hint of citrus and spice and overall the beer is light to light-medium bodied and quite wet on the palate for the style.

I expected more from this but it failed to deliver and was average throughout. The taste and smell were both lacking although the beer did look the part, it just didn’t back it up elsewhere. It’s a typical saison in style and taste but not a great one.

Pours a lovely yellow hue with a pretty skimpy head. Very light mouthfeel. Pleasant citrus notes with a hint of complexity. A very drinkable ale but not complicated enough for a true saison in my opinion. Still very refreshing on a hot day. I’ll get this one again.

Can. Purs golden yellow with a thin white head. Light wheaty base, spicy yeast, lemongrass, cardamom, and a slight sweetness. Good stuff.
