Canned (in 2013!). Nose is lemon and lemongrass, very clean and crisp citrus with floral undertones, and that Nelson, though faded, is still sublime. Pale yellow with strong carbonation and a noisy, fizzy, soapy bright white head. Tart and lightly acidic taste, low bitterness with faint rubber astringency in the finish, sweet but not to excess, coats with a chalky feel. Semi-soft medium body with touch of sour wheat, lightly herbal and very refreshing.

"Well, Maui really knows how to make a summer refresher with local ingedients. And Lost Abbey, for all their issues, does farmhouse/saision pretty well, so this is a good fit. Light and refreshing yet complex aroma. Wheaty, a little light fruit, lemongrass, very subtle belgian spice. The flavor is really nice. Spot on. Finishes dry. Another Ill get again."

Cans from Bobs

I drank my first couple of cans quite cold and in tulip glasses. They were tolerable if a bit sticky-sweet and a bit over-the-top with the banana esters in an American saison sort of way. I drank my third at closer to cellar temperature (out of a cooler) straight from the can by the pool in Leavenworth and it was darn near undrinkable. Hopelessly sweet, cloying, nearly undrinkable. Id have gone about 3.4 for the first couple of cans, about 2.3 for this one. Thats a big differential and Im puzzled why it struck me so differently on different occasions.
