COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Dogfish Head superstar – Sam Calagione, will be our fearless collaborator! The result – a beer-epiphany never before innovated called Liquid Breadfruit!

To celebrate the cornucopia of a Maui-grown harvest, we will ingeniously combine local breadfruit (or ulu) & toasted papaya seeds into the recipe of an imperial golden ale fermented using Dogfish Head’s DNA (Delaware-Native-Ale) yeast. You won’t want to wait until October to try it, but oh it will be worth the wait!

Can. Pours clear gold with average, creamy white head; decent retention and spare lacing. Aroma is cereal and cookie malts, tropical fruit, floral and citrus hops, lemon, and light toast. Flavor is sweet malts forward with supporting tropical fruit esters, light floral hops, light yeast, and faint citrus; dry, lightly sweet finish. Light/medium body and low carbonation.

The beer pours a hazy yellow color with a large white head. The aroma has some yeast and fruit notes, as well as some biscuit malt. The flavor is similar. There is a nice biscuit and toasted malt character, as well as some nice citrus fruit. There is a bit of tartness. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation.

dark golden color. Tropical fruit, hoppy and estry nose. Thick, almost syrupy mouth, full body, lots of tropical fruit. Rounded. Pleasant Belgian strong golden ale.

From a can. Pours clear gold with thin white head. Light body and high carbonation. Tastes like grapefruit, pears, and raspberry. Smells like pears, grapes, and kiwi.

This was shared with Strykzone on Facebook Chat. I poured from the 12 oz can a copper color with a quick fading white head. Aroma is a earthy and of melon. Medium plus in body . Smooth in the mouth. The flavor is fruity, with melon and what I assume is the breadfruit. Finishes somewhat dry.

Sampled on 3/18/2013. This fruit beer pours a very hazy pineapple orange gold color from a 12oz can. Small to medium sized white foamy head. The aroma is fruity and sweet, earthy and floral. A medium bodied fruit beer. The malts are fruity and sweet, tropical and bready. The hops are floral and citrusy. Good carbonation. Interesting combination of flavors, some fruity, some earthy and a hint of tartness. Certainly not your typical fruit beer, of course they aren’t using the typical fruits either… Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly tart.

KansaiBeerLvrs (5255) - Kyoto, JAPAN - MAY 14, 2013
I picked it up for about 600 yen from Antenna America. 8.2% it pours a great gold color and has a tropical fruit aroma which is normal as it is made with breadfruit & papaya seeds. Golden ale, then papaya, a hint of nuttiness before finishing with a crisp bitterness. This beer would rock at the beach! A nice mildly fruity golden ale.

kidmartinek (5001) - austin, Texas, USA - OCT 27, 2012
Clear golden color. Small white head. Sweet aroma like orangejuice. The bite is sharp and bitter with a lot of sweetness and biscuit. Bitter bland finish.

Blairgus (4613) - California, USA - NOV 8, 2012
8 Nov 2012, can from the brewery. light gold, clear, steady bubbles. nose is sweet bread dough, but not very strong. not much on the nose. thin body and fizzy. tinny, bready malt flavor with a bit of resin hop bite. really nothing special. it’s a pale ale with faint hops and the slightest fruit flavor.
