COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Dogfish Head superstar – Sam Calagione, will be our fearless collaborator! The result – a beer-epiphany never before innovated called Liquid Breadfruit!

To celebrate the cornucopia of a Maui-grown harvest, we will ingeniously combine local breadfruit (or ulu) & toasted papaya seeds into the recipe of an imperial golden ale fermented using Dogfish Head’s DNA (Delaware-Native-Ale) yeast. You won’t want to wait until October to try it, but oh it will be worth the wait!

Appearance: Peach-gold with a frothy white head. Aroma: Malt, corn, alcohol - very mild. Flavor: Much like the aroma. Has more of a grain adjunct character and less of a fruit character. Bread fruit indeed. Other: Kind of an odd viscosity as if someone way over did the cara pils malt.

$3.10 Bottle. Wine Warehouse. Charlottesville. Pours clear golden with an inch and a half of off-white head. Smells of hops, apricot, and other fruits. Tastes of grass and bitter grain.

Pine, citrus and berry aroma. Slightly darker golden color with controlled shiney cream colored head. Has a light tart zing at first then a malty with fruit kicks after taste. Leaves the mouth kinda bitter.

For the price i paid for this four pack, over $15, i was very disappointed. The texture was watery which is not always bad but with the flavor of this beer it was. The smell on the other hand was nice, like a fruit salad. The taste was similar to papya, which i hate haha. Again way overpriced.

FROTHINGSLOSH (8291) - GREENSBURG, Pennsylvania, USA - APR 5, 2013
From the April 2013 3R6P beer tasting. +++ Sampled from a 12 oz can this beer poured a bright golden color with a large foamy yellow-white head that lingered and left decent lacing. The aroma was odd tropical fruits, bread, honey, perfume and rock candy. The flavor was tartish bread, honey, vague tropical fruits, perfume, rock candy and a bit of sulfur. Medium length finish. Medium body. Odd.

Tastes like a solid pilsener. Some bready and grassy notes. Not exactly sure what the papaya seeds or breadfruit contribute, but decent session beer.

12 oz can via Lubiere, cool, tulip. Clear deep golden with a fair off-white head. Sorta vaguely fruity with boiled cereals, faintly citrusy with light tropical notes, a bit dusty, a touch resinous, pleasant if a bit unfocused. Medium+ body with moderate, fine effervescence. Fairly fruity, alcoholic, reminds me of a Belgian ale, sorta bready and yeasty with a touch of spiciness, a touch tropical and citrusy, not bad; dry with some bitterness and a boozy, vaguely fruity finish. Lower abv would have been nicer. The beer isn’t bad, it just is somewhat unfocused.
