Had this beer a the Maui Brewing brewpub. I pours a red amber color with a caramel colored head. Caramel, toffee, vanilla, and bourbon on the nose. Mouthfeel is a little oily and a bit chewy with some faint carbonation appearing with being disruptive. Creamy mouthfeel at the finish. Ripe cherry and a bit of vanilla flavors. Nicely balanced. Quite good. Snojerk321 (2984) - San Diego, California, USA - DEC 8, 2009
Tap @ Pizza Port Strong Ale Fest 2009. Since I’ve been to the brewery on Maui I figured I’d have to give this a shot. Pours a deep cola brown with a small beige ring. Nose starts of intriguing with pineapple and other tree fruits giving way to toasted malts and some toffee. Finish is quite boozy and sweet. beerguy101 (5364) - Newark, California, USA - DEC 26, 2009
Tasted at the 13th Annual Strong Ale Fest on 12/5/2009. This English Strong Ale pours a medium brown color from the tap. Small sized beige foamy head with decent lacing. The aroma is Caramel and fruity. A medium bodied English Strong Ale. The malts are caramel and semi-sweet with nice hint of orange. The hops are earthy. Hints of brown sugar as well, although mostly at the finish. A very mellow and subtle winter warmer. A nice sipping beer. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly sweet.

Deep mahogany color. Lots of apples, cinammon and wood in the nose. Almost going towards an English Strong ale, but then pulls back and the mouth explodes with hops, with a excellent full malty backbone, then you know this isn’t from Europe. Lots of spicy hops in the mouth that just dance aroud. Earthy, wood finish with moderate bitterness. Very enticing. Very unique. Papsoe (25054) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - SEP 18, 2012
On tap. Pours an almost clear reddish brown with a small off-white head. Delicious toffee and burned caramel in the nose - and perhaps subtle oaky notes. Quite a rich body, caramel, nuts and again a subtle barrel character (I might be mistaken though). Has a very soft mouthfeel and a smooth and warming alcohol finish. Very refined indeed. 180912

Tap @ Mikkeller Bar, Cph.yemenmocha (659) - Glendale, Arizona, USA - JAN 29, 2010
Pours clear deep ruby red with a small, creamy, off-white film. Aroma has fat, light toasted caramel, red berries, vinious, piney. Medium carbonation, nice oily and fat mouthfeel (despite the carbonation). Flavour is sweet, softly malty, toasted caramel, hints of raspberries and milky chocolate. Light warming softly vinious finish.
Enjoyed on tap at the brewery, winter 2010. The beer board indicates 85 IBU’s and 8.75% alcohol, but this one is very drinkable. Colour is a deep amber with thin head. Nose has an enticing toffee character. On the palate there is some warmth from the high ABV but it comes across very (pleasantly) sweet with the hops to balance. A big beer for sure, but the toffee sweetness makes it very tasty & easy to drink. bb (9790) - Alamo, California, USA - NOV 1, 2011
Draft. Rich amber beer with a cream colored head. Grapefruti aroma. Grapefruit and pine flavor with toffee. Medium bodied. Toffee and grapefruit lingers with light pine and light earth. FaithHealer1 (358) - SCOTLAND - JAN 17, 2012
UPDATED: JAN 18, 2012 Keg at North Bar, Leeds. Pours a great ruby-brown, with a small head that does quicker than a red-shirted Star Trek person.* I dont know who old chinwig is, but I suspect hes a bastard. And an arrogant one, at that. Taste is spicy, cloves, chocolate, a bit of caramel. Bastard-y. Thinner body and more subtle. Thats nice. Nice but not great.
*I’m NOT a Star Trek-ist, I just know this is a common-ish joke.
