COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Pukana La Golden Ale starts out smooth and creamy from the additions of local honey and 200 pounds of Flaked Oats. The local honey gives a subtle clove note to round out this easy drinking golden ale, but don’t be fooled, this golden ale clocks in at 7% abv and 16 ibu’s. Enjoy! **Pukana La is the Hawaiian word for sunrise.

Draught at Devil Craft. Aroma of honey malts, some lemon, grains. dark yellow color. Flavor of sweet, honey malts, light hops, ok bitterness that almost balances, but in the end too sweet. Tasty, though.

Deep golden color. Frothy white head. Rich nose of honey, floral and oats. Well rounded, rich malty mouth. Very much aimed at Duvel. Alcohol is very well hidden. Rich, slightly cloying finish. Excellent rendition of the style. Very well put together. Enjoyable surprise.

the brew arrived in a dimpled mug quite golden in color with a soft though oddly short lived white head. it has a fruity, almost pineapple-like nose from the honey addition along with notes of sulfur, dust, clove-y spiciness and florals. it showed the 7% abv in the sinus. the palate shows quite a bit of sweetness which begins to get a little cloying by the end of the half liter. the flavor is a bit yeasty mixed with cereal grain, honey, malt and some drying spice on the finish. it does end up crisp but turns sugary late which becomes a turn off because the mouth feel is so slick from the oats. over all, this pretty much tasted like honey nut cheerios cereal...6/4/6/3/13/3.2 on tap @ papago 6/23/11
