COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
"As Big as it is Smooth." A black, robust, full-bodied stout with a creamy, bittersweet chocolate-like, roasted coffee palate. We pour our stout with a "nitro-tap" to accentuate the malt and create a thick long lasting head and creamy body. This stout was named in honor of the Wild Hog in all of us. 37 IBU.

I had this beer on tap at the brewery while I was on vacation there. It pours Jet black with a healthy mocha head. There is a very strong burnt "fire pit" aroma with roasted and chocolate hints. The flavor is dominated by heavy roasted barley and chocolate tastes. It is exceptionally smooth and finishes fairly sweet. I like this beer a lot and has excellent drinkability.

Draft. Dark brown hue. Nose is roast, licorice, cocoa. Flavor is roast, Milk chocolate, coffee, cream, finishes dry. Velvet smooth texture, very creamy and pleasant. A very flavorful stout with wonderful texture and drinkability.

I drank several of these during our Feb. 2006 visit. This was a good and balanced stout with a great body. It reminded me somewhat of Guiness Extra, but a little sweeter. I drink this one on the mainland if available.

The six beers I had here all had a house character of a very smooth, creamy palate that works in some beers an not iin others. It works well in this one, the best of the bunch. Brown black, nice dense lasting head. Good roasted flavors.

Draught at the brewery. Beer is very dark brown, nearly opaque with a large, creamy, light brown, mostly lasting head.
The aroma is shy. Malty with a trace of molasses, light notes of coffee, chocolate, roasted grain; Hoppy with a moderate floral note; Yeasty with a trace of basement; Moderate miscellaneous note of dried stonefruits and currents.
The flavor is heavily sweet, lightly acidic, lightly-to-moderately bitter with a long, moderately bittersweet finish.
The body is light, the texture is watery and the carbonation is soft.

Faint aroma; can hardly smell anything. Mostly opaque body; reddish black with a tan head. Some lace. Oatmeal stout through and through. They nailed the style. Some lactose. Bittersweet chocolate. Fibrant flavors for a nitro. Well done.

Dark brown pour with tan head and lace. Toasted malt and coffee on the aroma. Large coffee, roasted malt, and a good malt bitter. Thin and watery with good carbonation. Nice beer.

Tap: Very dark with a frothy head. Texture was smooth; carbonation was mild. Rich and roasty right off the bat. Earthy, wholesome, oaty. Faint black licorice and vanilla. Pretty tasty, but a tad too sweet for me.

Draft at the brewpub. Not a lot of nose, black body, nice tan head. Smooth, nice roasty/coffee/mocha notes, mildly biter.
