A vibrantly red Vienna-style lager, Max Red has a smooth toasted malt character created by a blend of Munich, Biscuit and Pilsner malts. Spicy Tettnanger hops add a subtle accent to the finish of this medium- to light-bodied beer. IBU 22 ABV 4.7% O.G. 14º Plato

Amber pour with frothy head and lace. Caramel malt on the nose. Light sweet caramel malt , light bitter finish, with a mustiness. Medium bodied with a light watery pallet.

On tap at brewpub. Poured a clear amber red with a small head. Aroma is toasty bready malt. Taste is also bready with some fruit and caramel present as well. Body is light and moderately carbonated. Overall, an okay brew.

ChainGangGuy (4894) - Woodstock, Georgia, USA - NOV 14, 2009
Appearance: Clear, reddish-amber body with a thin, white head. Smell: Sweet-smelling, bready aroma with some mild, fleeting hints of caramel and fruit. Taste: Sweetish, bready malt profile with a hint of caramel cubes. Minor fruitiness. Incredibly faint hop character with almost no imparted bitterness. Drying finish with a final impression of sweet breadiness. Mouthfeel: Medium-light body. Lightly carbonated. Drinkability: First, the Gold was woefully undercarbonated, and now this. Again, a bump in effervescence would help this beer a great deal.

It pours a beautiful transparent reddish brown. Aroma is not strong but invitingly malty and spicy. Flavor is rich and malty, with hoppy hints and a touch of cinnamon.
