Cask handpull at Hamilton Hall London as Maxim Maximus, 6%. Dark amber orange, almost brown, translucent and still with a decent dense foamy beige head that endures and leaves foamy lacing. Aroma is toffee apple, teacake. Body is smooth with soft carbonation. Taste has some peppery spice and soft alcohol mint up front, with teacake and brandy. Dates. Papery finish without much bitterness. Warming, rounded and malty. Drinks a little above its strength. Overall, I thought it was decent.

Hippoman (646) - Durham, ENGLAND - MAR 8, 2016
Cask at The Water House (JDW), Durham, 1.99/pint. Dark, reddish brown beer with a pretty large, foamy, off-white head. The nose is all malt with sweet doughy and caramel tones. The taste is pretty sweet throughout (but not overly so) and is a pleasing mixture of bready malt and fruity - sultana, prune and dark berries - flavours. The high ABV is masked well making it a very drinkable pint.

Cask, Just J D Wetherspoons. Colchester. 7th May 2015. White lacing. Copper bronze appeaeance. Fruity yeast esters, red berry, clove and coriander. A tad musty and sweet. Slight old socks but I dont mind that for the style. Chocolate. Taste is red berry, chocolate, woodruff, Wild English berry, mild bitterness. I think this is something like a mild meets a Fullers Esb. Roasting is low to moderate.
