"Potus non frangit ieiunium." - Drinking does not break the fast- an ecclesiastical principle to which strong beer owes its origin. The clever monks and castle owners created their strengthening refreshment for the long 40-day fast period before the Easter celebration. Jubilator is a full double-malt beer, which one recognizes in Bavaria by the -ator" suffix.

Pivoteka. Clear dark brown/bronze. Lasting off white head. Chocolate, grainy, full light maltiness. Cocoa pops. Malty, cocoa lighr alcohol, caramel, dry grain. Lean, smooth, not too full. Ok, clean. Sweetish. Not bad. Ends dry. Not bad. Dont like the finish, otherwise quite nice.

Bottle, 0.5l. Clear deep ruby pour with two finger creamy beige head. Average head retention. Poor lacing. Nose is malty and grainy with hints of citrus, hops and caramel. Medium body with average carbonation. Slick and oily palate, somewhat dry mouthfeel, a bit peppery on the tongue. Malty sweet taste with a touch of alcohol burn. Aroma of caramel malts, liquor, toffee. Herbal and peppery. Slight cardboard. Licorice. Pretty strong alcohol presence despite the not so high ABV. Long finish, dry with lasting alcohol burn and slight metallic acidity. Overall, quite decent.

As usual with Maxlrainer Brauerei; the tap version of this beer is much better than the bottled version... Malty, caramel and chestnut notes; a full bodied and powerful beer.

(Maxlrainer Jubilator) Bottle 500 ml from d07c0m, thanks! Served into a dimpled mug, ABV 7.5% Dark mahogany brown colour on the body, with two fingers of thick, tan head on top, with great retention. Aroma of toasted malts, caramel, toffee, faint chocolate. Taste has more chocolate, toasted malts, toffee, more milky chocolate on the finish, faint caramel. Medium body with good carbonation. Very good.

Bottled 500ml. -from Pivoteka Zagreb. Red/brown coloured, medium sized beige head, caramel and whiff of chocolate in the nose. Roasted malt, caramel, light chocolate and some mild notes of dried fruits with touch of alcohol and nuts in the finish. Quite good doppelbock.

Flaska drucken p Brogatan till en god middag. En klassisk, rustik, kraftfull dubbelbock som inte blir fr st. Stora brdiga smaker med ltt beska som balanerar bra. Riktigt gott.

Many thanks for this beer to kevnic2008. Piwo o sporej piance, trwalej i wystajacej znacznie ponad kufel. Kolor rubinowo bursztynowy. Smak to karmel, sliwki w czekoladzie oraz rodzynki a takze na zakonczenie kakbny orzechy wloskie. Smaczne tresciwe, alkohol niewyczuwalny. Swietnie pasowalo do wedzonej ryby.

Zlotta (2768) - Hagen, GERMANY - APR 23, 2015
0,5 l bottle from P&M Getrnke, best before 14/9/2015. Crystal clear, very dark ruby with a medium large, frothy, very slowly diminishing, tan head. Malty aroma of raisins, prunes, candy sugar and molasses. Rather sweet taste of raisins, prunes, candy sugar and molasses. Medium long, quite hoppy and bitter finish. Medium to full body, oily mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Solid doppelbock with a relatively bitter note in the end (a result of the use of hop extracts?). Not outstanding though, just a nice beer.

Dunkles kastanienbraunes Bier mit einer ordentlichen beigen Schaumkrone. Geruch rstmalzig, sehr getreidig, leicht alkoholisch. Geschmack rstmalzig, sehr getreidig, kaum hopfig, stark typischer Bock!
