3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle from Coppers, Newcastle. A copper coloured beer with strong malt and toffee flavour with slight wood and nuttiness on the finish.
September 12, 2014 - at Southampton Arms; handpull. (at 4.5%). Slghtly hazy amber with some visible floaties - small mottled beige head. Pungent aroma - floral bittterness and burnt treacle - weird. Taste is a very pleasant floral/fruity only slightly bitter standard bitter - light, light, light - a hint of tartness in the background - the initial hit of creme brulee in the aroma is nowhere in the flavour - thankfully. Average body, airy, quick finish - the burnt sugar re-emerges in the aftertaste, but surprisingly decent. tinylightsrecs (437) - - APR 4, 2015

Bottle from Lucksall campsite cafe, Herefordshire. Light on the palette, elements of toffee, some fruits, hops, strange peppery bitter aftertaste. Something not quite right about this. BlackHaddock (7346) - Shropshire, ENGLAND - APR 29, 2013
Hand-pulled pint in The New Inn, Newport, Shropshire on 27 Apr 2013.
Golden brown to pale amber with a weak off-white head that turned into a collar and wisp very quickly. Biscuity malts in the aroma, with floral fruity notes for good measure. Taste followed suit, semi-sweet with a mild hop bitterness towards the end as the mouth dries. Well balanced and easy to drink, my first beer from this brewery, hope it will not be my last one.

Lightly hazed golden brown with a thin off white head that clears to the edge.
Nose comprises malts, orchard fruits, light medicinal tones.
Taste follows exactly with a small amount of hop presence and a touch of bitterness.
Medium bodied, soft carbonation, bitter finish.

Aroma has some wood and sweet red fruit. Has a rich feel, quite silky and smooth. Falvour is mainly of biscuity malts and sweet, slightly syrupy fruits. imdownthepub (14557) - Banbury, Oxfordshire, ENGLAND - SEP 22, 2012
Bottle conditioned, 500ml from Beers of Europe, Kings Lynn, Norfolk. Copper amber with fast disappearing head. Sweetish tangy, slightly tinny beer, sharp malt note, some graininess, strawberry note with orange pith a little one directional. Late bitterness. foxo82 (900) - Bromsgrove (via Leicester), Worcestershire, ENGLAND - JUN 7, 2012
Bottle from beersofeurope.co.uk. Nice shade of chestnut and clear with a small head. Big fruity aroma with currants, fruit cake, orange peel, liquorice and smokey hops. Tastes of malts, coffee, slightly smoked, grapefruit, lemon...really very good. Watery, textureless palate is the only slight letdown but this is fabulous ale.
