COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A very sweet brook welcomed the cold and thirsty Pilgrims to Plymouth. Today, it provides us with the soft water that is perfectly suited for brewing lighter-colored and milder beers. Mayflower Golden Ale is crisp and dry with a slight malt flavor and a subtle hop spice. This straw-colored ale provides easy drinkability for the novice yet plenty of flavor for the most discriminating connoisseur.

Canned version from the mixed pack. Pours out a slightly hazy otherwise clear light golden color. Thin white head. Decent carbonation. Light malt profile. Thin body. Well made but rather boring overall.

Fresh 12 ounce can with a date of 10-7-16. Gifted by Chalumeaux. Color is a clear gold with lasting foamy head. Aroma shows pilsner malt, bread, maybe honey.

The flavor is mostly grain with yeast, minor astringency. The body is light but it does have a creamy texture over the tongue. Better if consumed cold but not bad for the style.

12oz can from the land of the monument to a rock, shared by Chalumeaux. Thanks, TJ! Pours yellow gold with a white head. Aroma is peach and Pilsner yeast. This is thin, with flavors of light grain, peach, earthy Saaz. Somehow my description makes it sound drinkable. Not very. My wife tasted it and said "yulck!", I concur.

Bottle pour into nonic pint glass from One Stop Market. Appearance is clear piss yellow with finger-width white fizzy head with poor retention, minimal sparkle and no lacing. Aroma is strong cracker, pilsner-like malt with mild fruit/citrus. Taste is strong cracker/biscuit with mild bitter. Palate is light-to-medium bodied with thin texture, average to lively carbonation and lightly bitter, somewhat dry finish. Overall, flavorful for a blond ale.

Butterscotch-like aroma, light amber color, flavor has an interesting sweet note which I cant determine if I like or not. Sweetness countered by a distinct bitterness. My overall impression is that I cant decide if I like this beer or not.

Bottle. Overall a nice, well-balanced beer, small (enough) hints of citrus, not too much hoppiness. Had this to lobster.
