UPDATED: DEC 19, 2010 On tap at the Union Brewhouse. Decent brew, but Iím honestly not sure I would have identified this as an IPA. The brewer describes it as an old-school style, and perhaps that is true. Wonít have it again.
12/19/10 Itís the middle of New England Winter and the taste of anything summer is a God send. Hops my tongue! Thank you Mayflower! thetomG (246) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - JUL 9, 2010
Pours a mostly clear darker golden color with a HUGE amount of fluffy white head that leaves THICK lacing all around the glass. Aroma is nothing special really, but not bad by any means. Flavor is very nice - a bit fruity, a bit hoppy and very well balanced. The level of carbonation seems to be spot on - nice and bubbly as you sip.
This is a really tasty IPA and something I would love to drink again. YUM! j12601 (11162) - Poughkeepsie, New York, USA - JUN 30, 2010
Bottle leftover from camping up at Hill Farmstead for their grand opening. Pours a clear ruby hued brown with a medium sized sticky yellowed beige head. Nice clean citrus hop aromas, a bit of malt and caramel along with some metallic fruit notes. Medium bodied, a bit of earthy malt and hops. Finishes up with some slow lingering grapefruit bitterness. msante79 (2225) - Mount Prospect, Illinois, USA - JUN 25, 2010
12oz bottle from Santa. Pours c;ear copper with white head. Aromas of floral hops, caramel, citrus, and some malt. Flavors of caramel malt, bitter hops, some citrus, light pine. Finishes with bitter hops and pale malts. Decent IPA. jarow (237) - Massachusetts, USA - JUN 12, 2010
Bottle. Pours light amber with a white head. Nose is piney and floral hops, noticeable malt background. Taste has more of the same. Could use a bit more hops, a bit less sweetness. Not terribly well balanced either. Decent IPA but nothing special.

This poured a medium orange color with a white head. aroma was of light citrus notes, some pale malts and not much else. Flavor was lightly toasted,a bit sticky, and just enough bitter hops to keep it balanced. Nothing bad, but not a great IPA. TheHopHead (26) - Massachusetts, USA - MAY 8, 2010
6-pack, poured into a shaker. Great amber color, nice off-white two finger head, hoppy aroma. A great standard IPA, you canít go wrong with the Mayflower. hayduke (5188) - Eureka, California, USA - MAY 6, 2010
From a 12oz bottle courtesy of "The Wheelman", this poured a clear amber color with a moderate sized off white head and medium lacing. Nose of floral and citrus hops. Medium body and smooth mouthfeel. The flavor is of light malts with some pine and citrus hops and some bitterness. Dry bitter finish. Kind of a laid back IPA but decent in all regards.. A: Pours a nice vibrant orange hue with a tall off white foamy head. Very very good retention and lots of lace. Pretty pour.
S: Lots of nice sweet malts. Caramel and toffee lead the way. Notes of resinous pine, and mild citric notes as well.
T: Solid nice balance here. Floral up front with all the sweet candy malts coming out. Floral mostly but there is some pine and a bit of citrus. Tasty and balanced.
M: Medium in body, smooth, nice carbonation nice balance between hops and malts.

Pours a deep copper. Off white head. Smells of piney hops, resin and toffee? Bitter (in a good way) with a slightly sweet finish. Sharp hops but more malt forward. Feels a little unbalanced. And the hops taste a bit... grassy. Better IPAs out there.
