3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Cask@GBBF (thanks Mes!). Yellowish golden colour with a mediumsized white head. Aroma is fruity, floral and has some honey and mild bready notes as well. Flavour is spices, zest, caramel, herbs, grass and some toffee. Not overdoing the ginger.
Tried at the Newark Beer Festival 2016. Pale yellow golden colour with a white head. Citrus aroma, not much is any ginger coming through. Taste might have warmth from the ginger, but it wasn’t that noticeable. MesandSim (7117) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - OCT 24, 2009
A Mes rate. Cask at GBBF.imdownthepub (14744) - Banbury, Oxfordshire, ENGLAND - JUN 9, 2007
I got chatting to a guy at the bar while he was ordering his third pint of this and upon hearing I had not tried it, he insisted on pouring some into my empty glass. I ended up with nigh on half a pint. Thankfully it was good. A pale petrol blonde colour with a thin off white head. Nice spritely hoppage all round on top of a faint but supportive biscuity malt base. Some spice and lemon in the finish. A little one dimensional but a very pleasant, highly quaffable drop.
Cask conditioned at The Woolpack, Banbury. Pale straw, greenish tinge with white head. Almost a cider in appearance, there is a citric nose to it, leading to a sharpish hoppy flavour with hints of lime. There is possibly ginger in the background. It is a light and refreshing pint, tangy, zesty and yes Rick it goes very well with Free Range pickled eggs.
