COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A robust Porter. Balance and restraint define this beer. It has a strong upfront coffee aroma, with a dark cocoa finish. Brewed with Oregon hops to balance the assertive roastiness. It drinks like a freshly brewed iced mocha; flawless and smooth.

Draft 8/21/16 (Low Bar Vancouver, WA)-Pours brown with some ruby tint. Aroma of coffee, roasted malt, and slight chocolate. Taste of the same. This medium bodied brew is well balanced and goes down smooth.

Bottle:   Huge pillowy sandy head...wondering if this is another Porter on the verge of breaking down.   Soft roasty nose.   Like the Heathen before this, a soft acrid roastiness is on the tongue.   A bit more of a hop bite in this one, but still it seems a bit pedestrian.   Moderate body and mouthfeel.   A little chocolate presense tho, which makes it a bit better.   Middle of the road example...

chinchill (4761) - South Carolina, USA - SEP 30, 2016
22 oz bottle retrieved from Oregon. Pours clear but very dark brown, looking nearly black and opaque in the pint glass. A decent size beige head is semi-durable and leaves sheets of lacing upon tilting of the glass. Loads of very dark roasted grain flavor with relatively light notes of burnt toast and char. Enough hops to add flavor and complexity while keeping this markedly more bitter than sweet. O: a bold, hoppy porter.

Mazama Pyroclastic Porter - bomber from Taniguchi shared by Mick. Pouring a deep reddish black with a tan head. The nose is strong cacao powder giving it a strong chocolate aroma. The taste is roasted barley, acrid & chocolatey. Solid but it doesnt really stick out from the heard...

Tap at BCS. Lots of roast, chocolate and coffee, little spice. Taste has a decent prickle, pretty rich. Easy drinking though. Big taste for strength.

Pours a reddish brown appearance with a lasting dark brown head. Smells quite nice. Dry, oaty/grainy nose with a moderate amount of chocolate and coffee. Some vanilla notes as well. Roasty and dry flavor. A bit of nuttiness. Low sweetness. Moderate bitterness. Pretty tasty.
