Mazama Brewery, Draft: This was not my favorite beer of the night. I didn’t like the cloudy pour, and I thought it might be a tad thick. The aroma was okay, but overall, I was left disappointed. Like I said, it’s not a horrible beer, but I think they have other options that I would drink next time. Overall, this brewery has quality beer...a lot to choose from.
Pours hazy orange with a big long lasting white head.Good lacing. Nose of belgian yeast. Medium body. Flavor is stone fruit and slightly dank. Finished dark as well. Very nice. maekchu (3847) - Hirakata, JAPAN - MAY 1, 2017
On tap at the Hanshin Portland Fair in Osaka.Yeasty and estery nose, with lots of tangy stone fruit. Medium gold straw color. Nice sourish fruity initial, some spice, a bit of yeastiness, and a moderate bitter finish. Thin-medium body. Nice, but not such a refreshing saison. The flavor palate is a bit muddled 5000 (6862) - Hardened Liver, Washington, USA - OCT 2, 2016
Bottle:   Dark dirty straw, a bit milky, yeasty nose, a bit barnish, dull floral notes.   Similar tongue.   Very bready, but not too cloying.   Not bright, but flavorful.   Moderate body and mouthfeel.   Not very spritzy, but gives me the burps.   A little spicy, perhaps some very faint floral notes.   Decent American example. 22 oz. bottle from Pacific Liquor. Pour is dark gold with a frothy white head that leaves lacing. Aroma is faint, of wheat and slight citrus. Has a refreshing taste, slightly sour, lively on the tongue with a very nice sweet/sour finish. A good session ale. Would repeat at this price. Pours yellow with a white head. Estery nose with some pepper and flavors that follow. Sourish (but not sour ale sour) ester bomb like Red Barn but even worse. Disappointing, though in part simply because this is my least favorite interpretation of the saison style.
Bronzish-orange body topped by a lacey, silky white head. Yeasty, bready, estery, and phenolic nose with a strong dose of banana and a touch of clove. Again, lively esters on the pate. The taste of liquid yeast envelops the palate. Buzzy quality on the tongue. Some twangy sourness, wheat, and muted phenols. jake65 (3592) - Meridian, Idaho, USA - MAR 19, 2016
Bottle shared with my folks. Orange color, a bit cloudy after divying it up, topped with a thin sandy head. Mild aroma of Belgian yeast, spice, a little peppery. Tastes of spice and light fruity sweetness. Finishes dry and spicy, but mild. Easy drinker, paired well with lasagna. lightbias (453) - USA - FEB 28, 2016
Basic, funky, cracker and lemon. Not terribly exciting, but a decent saison. Nicer to look at than to drink. wchesser (2071) - Denver, Colorado, USA - SEP 21, 2015
Cloudy dark straw yellow. Nose of Belgian yeast esters, pepper. Taste follows. Fine but not my thing. smallfry (169) - - AUG 31, 2015
(Bottle) Just okay. It’s good because I like the style, but not a very stand-out saison.
