COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Mc CHOUFFE is an unfiltered brown beer which is refermented both in the bottle and in barrels. Its fruity bouquet conceals a hint of bitterness.

On draft at Sharp Edge Brasserie. Poured hazy ruby with fizzy off white head. Candi sugar, plums, raisins present. Yeasty. Just a tad thin.

Bottle from Booths Supermarket, Media City. Dark hazed brown with a very thin head. Has a mild darker malt sweetness with some Belgium yeasts available too. It doesn't quite feel its strength, with some hops evident in its aroma.

Dark, milder tasting brother/sister to La Chouffe. Honestly, I’m a little disappointed. There is a roasted dark flavour and a noticeable but not very prominent alcoholic bite, and, well, that’s it. Maybe I had a bad bottle? Really didn’t jump out of the glass at me, unfortunately, but I did get it from some crappy newsagents so perhaps it was a dud, who knows?

UPDATED: NOV 29, 2017 ho assaggiato la versione in bottiglia da 33cl. Birra in stile belga/trappista, si sente la frutta secca e la parte alcolica..

thorongil2 (3479) - , Ontario, CANADA - NOV 24, 2017
(Bottle) clear, bright, reddish brown colour with a small beige head; creamy palate; aroma of brown sugar, candy; balanced flavour with a long, light bittersweet finish

W nosie klasyczna Belgia, trochę słodko. W smaku słodycz, taka trochę szampańska. Odczucie w ustach lekkko w stronę Vibovitu. Tak sobie.

cattaneopapa (428) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - NOV 19, 2017
Pours an opaque deep brown colour with two finger of lasting head. Aromas of yeast a dark fruits. Taste matches the aroma with some leathery notes and hoppy finish. Medium-high carbonation. Not bad but not too impressive. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Fazlaca asitlik. Buğday kokusu. Kahverengi gövde. Kokusu burna hoş gelmiyor iç ferahlatan bir bira değil.

Too bad I only have one with me.
Malt: caramel, Aroma: some alcohol, woody... Colour: brown; full body, average carbonation, long finish. Belgian strong ale at its best.

Not the most exciting beer I've tried, but it's simplicity is very well executed. The beer is highly drinkable and good for any occasion.
