De belles notes boisées, une peu de noix. Il manque un brin d amertume et de caractère.

341ml bottle. As Griffon Ale Rousse. Amber color, off-white head. Malty aroma. Taste is sweet malt, burnt caramel, grains. Sweet finish. Lacks bitterness.

From old tasting notes. Deep reddish brown color. Big rocky beige head. Smooth nutty malt nose. Tangy toasted malt flavor has an underlying smokiness to it. Nice balance between malt and hops make this a tasty brown ale.

jice (373) - Grenoble, FRANCE - MAR 26, 2017
Bière ambrée, maltée, légère et manque de relief et de corps. Buvable, pas désagréable, mais pas inoubliable.

VDuquerroux (1686) - Airvault, Haut-Poitou, FRANCE - MAR 2, 2017
Bottle, 341mL. Home. Kindly given by my parents ; bought during a trip at "Vendée Globe". Merci :) A sparkling mahogany orange clear beer with a big off-white head ; good retention and lacing. Caramel, roast, dried fruits, light herb. Light to medium sweet, light dry bitter refreshing. Light body, thin oily texture, average carbonation, roasty toffy dry bitter finish. Overall, ok.

Bierdimpfe (640) - Quebec, CANADA - FEB 26, 2017
Clear dark copper color with lots of activity. Creamy beige 3 finger head, lasting around 5-10 minutes, with faint lacing. Flavors of butterscotch, roasted grains, berries, apricot, nutmeg, ginger, butter, herbal spices. Highly sugary and almost candy like, but with sharp bitter spices. Creamy and smooth full body with soft crispy carbonation. Medium strength finish, bitter leafy red ale spices, fruity esters and burnt malts, with notes of walnuts and peppercorn. A bit dry, chalky, and metallic. So you have a very sweet red ale here, but well compensated by the sharp finish. Decent freshness and a solid body. Highly inviting smell, good flavors and balance. Overall very good quality craft.

gregorymconway (232) - Peterborough, Ontario, CANADA - NOV 7, 2016
ruby red tinted copper body with a white bubbly head. Smell is pretty light, hard to really pick anything up other than a light cereal malt. Tastes a little bitter, some hop presence is here. Some chocolate on the taste with a pleasant finish. Not really a style I enjoy though.

erickok (6037) - Leuven, BELGIUM - SEP 5, 2016
Herbal, Irish feel to this one. English hops with a quite sweet yet filtered taste. Not very modern, but that’s fine, I still enjoyed it. In the same way I enjoy a bock. (33cl bottle from Saveur Bière)

AleRider78 (1133) - Winchester, Ontario, CANADA - JUL 8, 2016
Griffon Rousse, 341ml bottle. Pours a thin layer of head and quickly dissipates. Lacing is ok. Has a dark reddish brown colour. Good carbonation. Has a burnt malty aroma, a bit of spices and a slight alcohol smell. Flavours of dark roasted malts, notes of caramel, a bit of mocha and toffee. Good mouthfeel and medium retention. Tingly sensation on the palate and a slight bitterness of aftertaste. Good session drinking red irish ale.

Sødlig, og godt maltet. En mørk og saftig sag, der til den negative side er lidt for syrlig i eftersmagen
