3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
UPDATED: DEC 13, 2010 341ml bottle. purchased 4 pack for $9 from the grocery store. pours dark amber orange with a thick foamy off white head that quickly dissipates. lots of spices going on in the aroma. cinnamon, ginger, clove, along with pumpkin of course. nutmeg really comes out in the taste. this beer really tastes like pumpkin pie, with a mild hops finish. lovely. the mouthfeel is thin and very carbonated. very impressed with this one. i’ll be serving this for the family on thanksgiving dinner. another great product from McAuslan.
Appearance: Wow, extremely carbonated with like a zillion little bubbles that keep rising up and a thick bubbling head. Unsettling a little but still nice to look at. A hazy orange-brown with some red in it rounds things off.
Smell: Major whiff of ginger and some hops. A nice malty background but the spices dominate here. I get some mint in there also. It smells like a fresh breath of air though a tad too polished.
Taste: Pumpkin spice and ginger with a bit of hop bitterness but otherwise has a kind of abrupt finish. Better as it warms with a mesh of spices but tastes a tiny bit artificial.
Mouthfeel: Not as aggressive on the carbonation as i would have thought though it is up there. Medium body that wears thin near the end.

Bottle poured a clear reddish amber with a small lasting creamy amber head. Aromas of caramel, nutmeg, clive and light cinnamon. Palate was medium bodied and smooth with a dry finish. Flavors of caramel, clove, cinnamin and nutmeg with a smooth dry lingering spiced finish. KansaiBeerLvrs (5255) - Kyoto, JAPAN - OCT 7, 2016

The only pumpkin beer I was able to pick up in Montreal is one is been meaning to try for awhile.
The color is a deep orange brown with bad head retention with the fizzy beige head disappearing as fast as one on a class of cola.
The aroma on this satisfies with a classic pumpkin pie spice component: cinnamon, allspice, nutmeg and an enticing fruitiness.
Light bodied with a raspy somewhat rough carbonation and dry finish. This lack of depth detracts from my enjoyment of the beer somewhat but it still gives you fruit cake, nuts, and pumpkin pie spices.
It’s a shame the body/flavor don’t live up to that aroma but it remains a fairly well balanced pumpkin beer. If they thickened the body and smoothed out the carbonation it’d be a real winner. ROGUE (2215) - Lewes, Delaware, USA - OCT 5, 2016
On tap at SLL tasting. Pours clear amber with a medium sized off-white head. Smells of pumpkin, nutmeg, ginger, and clove. The taste follows closely with pumpkin, spices, and bready malts but has a weak intensity. Good body and above average carbonation.

Pours a dark brown copper color with a medium tan head. Not much head retention. Aroma is strong spices, mostly nutmeg, cloves, cinnamon and a faint caramel malt nose. Taste is medium sweetness. Nice mouth feel for the style. Medium body. Small hops in the end. Not bad actually

A nice pumpkin ale. Pours a good looking orange/brown with persistent head. Aromas of pumpkin, bread, sweet malts. More pumpkin flavours with spice notes and lots of malty goodness. ljthiessen (1391) - Winnipeg, Manitoba, CANADA - SEP 22, 2016
Bottle. Clear, deep amber pour with a lasting off-white head. Aroma is sweet caramel and bright pumpkin spice - cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, with a little something else that makes this smell fresh and bright. Taste is easygoing and nicely balanced, some pumpkin spice notes but not overly spiced, some caramel, and a hint of ginger that really makes this stand out. Fairly light but really nice for a pumpkin beer. Hidden_Pooch (518) - Stratford, Prince Edward Island, CANADA - APR 23, 2016
Much better than expected and I actually went back for more. Pours a beautiful clear red with tiny quickly dissipating head. Aroma was of caramel, cinnamon, nutmeg, and light soap. Tastes of pumpkin pie, caramel, ginger zing, and toffee. Has a light body with tingly ginger finish. Bierdimpfe (640) - Quebec, CANADA - APR 1, 2016
Clear copper reddish color with strong subtle activity. Almost creamy beige 3 finger head, lasting around 8 minutes, with average legs.
Aromas and flavors of black pepper, fruits, grains, caramel, nuts, herbal spices. More a black pepper taste with faint pumpkin and cinnamon flavors. Well balanced between sweetness and sharpness.
Medium body with moderate carbonation. Well intensified but short finish, ending with a slightly bitter spicy herbal saaz feel.
Overall an average craft, well balanced and complex flavors but an over buried pumpkin taste with a flat and stale feel. Frank (4220) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - FEB 7, 2016
This stuff isn’t half bad--esp. impressive in that this bottle is at least two months old, not expired but not exactly fresh either. This is very much focused on the pumpkin and pie spice but not entirely at the expense of the beer as there is a bit of actual malt character poking through and a touch of hop bitterness in the finish.I reckon if you are into this sort of spiced beer, you were rather enjoy this one.
