A friend gave me one of these in a bottle. Mcguire’s contracts out the Red to Florida Brewing Co. and you can find these bottles local. It pours golden red with a nice head that fizzles away in a couple minutes. Smells dusty or mucky, I guess, but that is the character of the beer. First taste was a bit nutty, but second has more bitter tart. Light lingering aftertaste, but good.
Pours a nice amber color. Not a lot of aroma, sweet malt with a hint of fruit/hops. Flavor is malty, with a touch of bitterness. GreatDane1632 (1174) - North Dakota, USA - NOV 23, 2014
Rated base on notes taken 6 Sep 2013 -- Drank on draft at the Destin location after seeing The World’s End. Loved the movie and this is a great discussion beer. snoworsummer (6071) - baltimore, Maryland, USA - JUL 3, 2014
Draft at the Pensacola Airport. Pours hazy copper with a bubbly frothy beige head and lots of lacing. Tastes nutty, like doughy malt, dry and grainy. Light/medium body and carbonation. Faint aroma, smells like the shot of patron that came with it :) sonnycheeba (6342) - Federal Hill, Baltimore, Maryland, USA - JUL 3, 2014
Tap. Pours clear amber with creamy beige head. Aroma is cereal and toasted malts, light fig, light floral notes, and faint caramel. Flavor is sweet and a little syrupy with light hop bitterness, dry malt profile, and faint berry esters; dry finish. Medium body and carbonation. bamawhodat (1) - Gulf breeze, Florida, USA - MAR 22, 2014 does not count

Slight chill-hazed reddish amber color. Small off-white head. Little lacing. Quite the roasty nose on this one. Taste is malty with a big roast not and a bunch of yeast that didn't get cleaned up.

Bottle shared pours clear reddish orange color with off white head. Aroma is the best thing about this, medium malt base with some breadiness mild malt flavor with some bread mixed in. Overall not bad but not good either. rosenbergh (11799) - Tampere, FINLAND - SEP 24, 2013

Clear amber colour with a small white head.
Fruity, biscuity, sweet and malty aroma. Quite good.
The flavour is more traditional... which means sweet maltiness and mild hoppy notes. Boring. Mr McGuire looks awful lot like Mr Hemingway.
Aroma of great caramel, malty goodness and good bread. Pours red with just a little head. Taste is great like a vienna lager. Good caramel taste, and stale bread. Nice irish red. Nothing much to it. jbruner (5287) - Marietta, Georgia, USA - MAY 28, 2013
Pours a clear caramel color from the bottle with quickly dissipating white head that doesn’t really leave lacing. Aroma is bready malt, noble hops, and a slight metallic twinge. Taste follows, tastes kind of old. I should have had it in tap when I was there, decided last minute to grab a bottle to go instead.
