2004 bottle from mulligan...held up amazingly! Pours a clear amber/chestnut color with a thick white head. Aroma is loaded with fig and raisin...sweet and malty. Flavor has nice fruity and malty notes...lots of fig and raisin with a touch of caramel. Mouthfeel is medium/full and silky with a nice, faintly leathery dry finish. Very minimal oxidation for such an old bottle!

Pour is a chestnut brown color with light tan head. The nose is overly sweet, cherries, woody and boozy with a touch of acetone. Similar flavor, sugary, sweet cherries, boozy and woody. Fuller body, syrupy and creamy with a juicy feel and light carb.

on tap at brewpub. tepid chestnut, no head. Alcohol, nut, sugar, marker-esque nose (thanks Chris!) Flavor is a bit dryer than nose, light papery finish, emptier than nose, bit of bread, candi sugar, light heat. Thin, medicinal experience.

Tap at Glen Mills location. Pours out an attractive reddish brown color with a small off white creamy head. Aroma is of dark fruits, some fig and slight apple and a touch of alcohol. Taste is complex with some very nice notes of dried fruit namely fig, dark cherry and some plums, slight sweet candi sugar, and some sweeter fruity yeast notes also crept n there along with some alcohol notes. Warming boozy finish. Very well done, but Id like to try it with some age on it to calm down some of the boozy notes.

Very good Abbey. Palate is wonderful on the mouth, and the smell is great! Taste is good and it goes down smooth. A keeper.
