In short: Vanilla-chocolaty stout meets funky Flemish sour!!! And it works!!!argo0 (14127) - Washington DC, USA - JUN 22, 2011
How: Tap at brewpub. One of the RBSG 2011 bus-trip pit-stop
The look: Cloudy dark burgundy topped by a small beige head
In long: Nose is has some oaky sourness, vanilla, chocolate, horse blanket. Taste is has burnt chocolate, lots of tannins, vanilla, cherry skin, funk, oak sourness. This really came across as a vanilla-chocolaty stout blended with a funky Flemish sour. Strange to say the least but also inexplicably cohesive. A wild experiment that turned out pretty well. Some peopled called it a revolutionary beer but I personally don’t think a true revolutionary would drop his gun to drink this beer.
Draft, RBSG bus tour, thanks ryan. Clear red-black body, small beige head. Aroma is moderately sweet, blackberry, some sour, light funk, wood/vanilla. Taste is moderately sweet, sour, some wood, vanilla, light blackberry. Medium body, lightly sticky. jcwattsrugger (12517) - Florida and, New Jersey, USA - JUN 16, 2011

this one poured a murky brown color with a tiny off white head. AARoma was of light funky brett, and some dark fruit notes too. Flavor was a bit lacking and off for a sour, oak wasnt really there either. Eh. MrChopin (4304) - Baltimore, Maryland, USA - JUN 11, 2011
chestnut brown, thin beige head. Nose is bretty, vinous, light roast, nice balance, lightly sour plum and caramel. Very soft, light grains and fruit through finish, bit and overall lacking a defining quality, but still decent. decaturstevo (6343) - decatur, Tennessee, USA - JUN 10, 2011
Deep amber with creamy tan head and lace. Dark fruit and a sour aroma. Sweet caramel malt, raisins, and a hinto cherry. Medium full bodied with good carbonation. Nice beer. GT (10002) - San Diego, California, USA - JUN 7, 2011
Tap at McKenzie for RBSG 2011. Abv listed at 6.5% Pours a deep cola brown with a small tan head. Nose is full of off-character- tomatoes, old raisins. Taste is sour with oddities like metals, seltzer water, slight tomato. Ends with spicy old raisins and metallic sharpness with acid reminiscent of Shorts Brewing’s proprietary bacterial strain from Mars known as SBC3830-X. Could be mistaken for Shorts PB&J atrocity. blipp (9598) - La Mesa, California, USA - JUN 6, 2011
Draft. Pours brownish with a beige head. Tart fruity and bretty aroma, with some light roasted malty and oaky notes. The flavor is funky bretty and oaky, with lightly roasted malts, toasted bread, and light tart fruity notes. Good stuff.
