Very good, in a night of 3 sour ales my favorite. tart, vinous, wood influenced malt, cherry and dark fruit. Lots going on here. TheAlum (7164) - Aurora, Illinois, USA - JAN 2, 2014
Bottle at the Pant-y Raid NYE Tasting (Chicago, IL). Pours a nice amber copper hue, a bit more well hazed, gentle deeper and dark glow with cakey whitish head atop. Dies to a firmer thick frothy ring, sticks around and laces well in that regard. Aromas throw oak, mandarin oranges, touches of pulpy berry, some gentle dusty funk and oak hits at times. Some gentle bread, biscuit. More cobwebs, citrusy mandarin oranges. Some cranberry, gentle seedy elements. Initial is medium bodied, a touch lighter in body, firm prickly brett, some cobwebs, gentle tartness. Touches of oak, a bit tannic with touch of cherry, berry and gentle oak. Some cobwebs, mellow bready and biscuity malt. Some oranges, faint sweeter citrus slant. Backend is tart, cranberry and raspberry, touches of tartness, cobwebs and mellow dust, straw and grainy elements. Gentle oak, berry, touches of wine tannin as we finish up. Solid stuff, a bit vague, lacking true wild complexity but tasty, solid, cohesive stuff. Nice. Fruity nose, berry tartness. Nice. dagimp (1008) - Philly, Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 7, 2013
Bottle 166 purchased at Malvern brewpub. Second bottle I've had and both were very similar to one another. Pours a medium brown with an inch of white head and a touch of lacing. Fabulous fruity aroma with mild vinegar oak and lemon. Mouthfeel is very light; like drinking diet coke. Taste is under powering and underwhelming. Mainly water minerals and a dialed down version of the nose. Wish the taste matched the aroma. That would have made a world class beer. Could have used more time in the barrels to sour this guy up.

Pours an amber/ruby with a medium off white head. Aroma has tart red fruits...cherry, raspberry...oaky/vinous depths. Flavor follows suit...very nice vinous/tart oak with a touch of oaky spice...fruit is tart yet mellow...very earthy...light red wine notes. Mouthfeel is medium and silky with a dry vinous/oaky finish. Fabulous beer!

Bottle 179/300 shared by Ed5388 during Belgian Pumpkin brewday. Poured a muddy medium brown with lighter brown edges and a smaller foamy beige head. Aroma is both wild and sour, loads of lemons, cherry, wet wood, wild flowers, honey, white wine and band aid. Acetic body, vinegar burn, medium mouthfeel with softer carbonation and a lingering aftertaste. Flavor of balsamic vinegar, wine, berry, flower petals, sour lemons. Good stuff with a lot going on.

750ml bottle (179/300). Pours a dirty amber/brown color with a finger and a half of foamy off white head. Wasn't sure what to expect from this beer, but wow I was surprised. Aroma of sour dark fruit, red wine notes, lactic, funk, musty oak. Much like a Flanders. Taste is big on the lacto and brett, some wood, dark fruits, and red grape skin. egajdzis (6612) - Pennsburg, Pennsylvania, USA - JUL 30, 2013
Hazy reddish brown color with a medium sized, off white head that. Left nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of dark fruits, Brett, wood, vanilla, apple, and light alcohol. Taste of dried fruits, apple brandy, vanilla oak, whiskey, lightly tart finish with some booze. callmemickey (4549) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - JUL 3, 2013
Dark brown body, large off-white head, soapy lacing. Big vinous presence with dark fruits, leather, a little earth, must, and lactic acidity. Medium bodied, gentle carbonation, pleasant acidity. A solid effort.
