Growler from Chadds Ford location. Pours a hazy perfectly clear filtered golden like a very light pilsner- good nice high carbonation- with a massive fluffy white head that lasts and leaves a slight cloud floating in the center of the beer towards the end. Aroma is highly hopped with floral and earthy hops- almost a hint of citrus as well, lots of doughy wheat- pils malts, hint of sulfur in the middle from the yeast, also a nice dupont- sea-spray, saltiness and medium phenols. Flavor is phenolic yeasty, skewed to the dupont side but has a slight westmalle fruity hint but under control- phenols turn to a fruity bubblegum in the middle, great bready doughy malt throughout. Great body with a crisp light citusy lemon zest in the end. Great Saison. puzzl (3258) - New York, New York, USA - FEB 14, 2009
Growler shared by Dickinsonbeer. A solid effort here. Beautiful pour, huge and lovely head. Super dry aroma, hay and lemon notes, some grainy/wheat characteristics. Lightly bitter, milky flavor, prickly carbonation with a rich, minerally body. A touch of sugars show up from time to time. Quite floral, dry and complex, reminiscent of the Dupont beers. I wish more brewers could nail the style like this. JoeMcPhee (9427) - Toronto, ON, Ontario, CANADA - FEB 14, 2009
Growler shared by dickensonbeer. Pours very, very pour... one of the palest beers I’ve ever seen. Big sticky white head. Aroma is just lovely. Soft spiciness with a fresh pils maltiness and a touch of lemony citrus. Softly herbal on the nose as well. Fruity and fresh. Flavour is very lean and light. Crisp and fresh with loads of yeasty spice and a light dustiness as well. This is a very tasty brew... one of the best US-brewed saisons I’ve had in a very long time.
