Aroma: Rather hoppy, belgian yeast, awesome floral profile.
A: Blonde beautifull lasting white head.
Flavors: Mostly bitter, floral hops dominates with a nice yeasty signature. A little too hoppy, I would have let more place for the yeast to shine.
Palate: Just like a saison should be. Lively carbonation, medium-full mouthfeel and dry finish.
Overal: My type of saison. Excellent. Ibrew2or3 (8614) - Tempe, Arizona, USA - APR 7, 2011
Courtesy daknole. Pours hazy deep gold with off white head. The aroma has mild tartness, peach, hay, herbal like earthiness and yeasty spices. The taste has some lemon like acidity up front and then it moves into grapefruit, spicy yeast and herbal notes followed by peach fruitiness. (750ml bottle) clear yellow with a long lasting fine white bubbled head. Nose of brett, florals, earthy, citrus hops, and oranges. Taste is quite floral, perfume, earth, very soft but prickly carbonation, with more florals in the finish. bu11zeye (13029) - Frisco (Dallas), Texas, USA - OCT 21, 2010
(750ml bottle, courtesy of Chad) Pours a clear yellow body with a medium white head and nice lacing. Aroma of mustiness, horseblanket, florals, lemon, and barnyard. Flavor of florals, brett, grass, light citrus, and earth. Dickinsonbeer (5074) - Hoboken, New Jersey, USA - OCT 20, 2010
GABF 2010. One of the wackiest beers of the fest, while still remaining palatable and quite good overall. Pours a hazed golden with a massive white head- sticky and good lace. Aroma is pure funk! Sour notes, acidic mineral aroma- lemon zest, horse funk, barnyard, horse manure, grapeskins. Flavor is mineral, light crackery malt backbone, wood, oak, tannic, wine-like, white wine, grapeskin, citrus, lemon juice with acidity, light grass, horse and more funk! All sorts of wild while still being good overall. Went back for multiple samples each session. nickd717 (4691) - San Francisco, California, USA - OCT 15, 2010
Sampled on draft.
Pours hazy golden-blond in color with a large white head and some decent lacing.
The aroma is very nice, funky and bretty with citrus and tropical fruits present.
Really tasty and interesting. Slightly sweet pale malt base yields to a tart funky bretty presence. Big-time fruitiness with peach, pineapple, lemon, and others, hinting at some kind of hop presence.
Medium-bodied with a good carbonation level. Rather dry on the palate.
Excellent and drinkable wild ale overall. McKenzie has really impressed me with the beers I’ve had from them. Need to seek out more. BMan1113VR (7931) - Los Angeles, California, USA - OCT 1, 2010
Bottle thanks to thirdeye11 via bu11zeye. Pours with a large white head over a clear golden body. Aroma of brett funk, horseblanket, lemon, burnt rubber, thistle, hay, burnt, honeycomb. Flavors of lemon, grainy, harsh rubber. Very brett dominant, lactic acids are a bit masked in the back ground. Lively bubbles. Dry mouthfeel.
