Pours dark golden and cloudy with an orange hue and a decent white head. It smells light sweet, yeasty, and almost a bit zesty. The flavor of the DuPont yeast is nice with more bitterness on the backend from the hops. The body is not too bubbly, right on. xmarcnolanx (937) - Kirkwood, Missouri, USA - JUN 11, 2010
Aroma is yeasty, very strongly yeasty, wheaty, lemon, and banana.
Taste is sweet, yeasty, with tons of wheat and a slight alcoholic tinge that is well integrated with the beer.
Finish is sweet and slightly lemony.
Overall, it is a very sweet saison that tastes more like a tripel mixed with a saison due to it’s high alcohol content and loads of residual sugar.
The flavors are well integrated, but it just tastes like a saison-inspired Strong Ale.

UPDATED: JUL 20, 2012 Bottle, pours a very clear, bright gold with a large white head. Sharp, fairly pungent nose, first reminds me of Dupont saisons, really grassy and distinctive. Freshly cut grass, light and fresh yeast, really summery. Sweeter in the mouth than I had expected, with a round quality unusual in a saison. Honeydew and ripe mangoes. Rounded about with that grassy saison kick. Peppery and a bit spicy, just slightly hot. Good and pretty interesting.
Not that anyone will ever read this update, but I opened another bottle of this July 2012, and found it very enjoyable. I’m not entirely sure it was the same beer I had last year, as both bottle just had very small stickers for labels with the brewer’s hand writing. This was darkier, maltier, more honey, but pleasantly earthy with a lot of meadow-like sweetness. Reminded me of some of the more rustic Publick House saisons. madmitch76 (24789) - , Essex, ENGLAND - JAN 17, 2010
11th October 2008. GABF. The may have intended to call this ’Saison De Luxe’ but it was presented as ’Vautor De Luxe’ here. Cross checked with the GABF 08 brochure. Hazy gold beer. Dry palate. Some wheaty flavours and some sourness. Typical saison aromatics but more so. A really full on Saison! GodOfThunder (1249) - Orlando, Florida, USA - AUG 25, 2009
In an effort to knock out the rest of my backlog, my ratings will be fairly generic and sparse. If the beer had anything special to offer, it will be noted following this disclaimer. The number ratings above are accurate based on my tasting notes. Following the elimination of my backlog, all beers will be entered in real time and will be more useful. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Thanks to Dickensonbeer. Sweet malts, belgian yeasty spices and a little lemon. Solid.
Sampled at the Ohio group tasting on DLD eve ’09. Cloudy yellow/orange color with a thin off-white head. Aroma of yeast, fruit and pancakes. Slightly peppery yeast flavor with a bit of hop. puzzl (3258) - New York, New York, USA - MAY 12, 2009
Bottle from Hopdog. I’m pretty sure this is a rebrew of the Avec le Bons Veaux but apparently not. Big, hugely malty, spicy rye notes with light vodka and bitters. Prickly, spicy flavor, very yeasty and thick with tons of pale malts, coating and full and expressive, if not brutish. A pretty nice saison, though if this were actually Scott Morrison I’d be disappointed. A tad underattenuated and over-yeasty. kp (10882) - Woodstock, Georgia, USA - APR 27, 2009

25.4 oz bottle. Foggy yellow orange with a foamy, then smooth, ivory head. Lacy rings. Nose is dough and lemon with floral notes. Sharp carb, medium body with yeasty creaminess. Taste is lemon pith, a touch of bubblegum and green banana. Finishes with bitter lemon peel, pine oil and a peppery bite. bconley (352) - Fern Park, Florida, USA - MAR 23, 2009
Bottle at the Otown Throwdown. Most definitely one of my favorite saisons yet. Pale orangey yellow body. Earthy and peppery. Stingey carbonation and really nice hops
