My favourite beer. I discovered it about 3 years ago but it has been getting harder to find lately. Hopefully that will change now that my local Dan Murphys is carrying it (it’s the first time I’ve seen it at any Woolworths owned store). thebigkahuna (27) - - JAN 25, 2014
lovely lovely lager. quite enjoyed it. would buy again. love the label of vale beers, they look welcoming. davidm (2080) - Sunnyvale, California, USA - JUL 4, 2011
On tap at the courthouse. Very well balanced. Aromas of nuts, cola, and caramel. Taste is sweet, with bitter notes, and good length. Palate is velvety, and medium bodied. Brown, with a frothy head. Pyobon (1402) - Sydney, AUSTRALIA - JAN 19, 2012
UPDATED: FEB 25, 2012 (bottle) Poured clear dark amber / red with no head. Lovely aroma that developed over time, starting with floral and perfume notes evolving to a toffee / candy with hints of fruit (passionfruit?). Light body, well carbonated. Flavour has a nice balance of richer sweeter tastes like toffee and raisins with clearer cleaner refreshing notes. There is a little pleasant bitterness in the finish. Overall it is very quaffable beer, with a nice balance. mkel07 (5980) - Brisbane, AUSTRALIA - OCT 21, 2011
330ml bottle. Burnt copper to red in colour with a small level foam head. Sweet malty aroma with a hint of fruitiness. Refreshing and enjoyable with a crisp finish. The best of that Vale beers so far.

Tastes very good. I will definately get this beer again. I enjoyed it a lot. Very decent. alang51 (81) - Essendon West, AUSTRALIA - FEB 12, 2012
Nice aroma. Roast, toffee overtones. All in all a tidy effort, not as good as another South Australian which is one of my favs - Pepperjack. Stoogemobile (16) - Adelaide, AUSTRALIA - JUN 27, 2014
A little bit citrusy, light to medium body, but remember, it’s a lager, not an ale! Sweet. Roast nuts. Quite nice. M_Sack (720) - Sydney, AUSTRALIA - OCT 10, 2014
Bottle. Mid brown colour with good clarity. Small cream head dissipates quickly. Aromas of caramel and floral hops with a hint of coffee. Crisp floral hops move quickly into sweetish caramel, coffee and molasses. Reasonably thin, but there is some body provided by the roasted malts. Good example of an American dark lager. Highly drinkable.
