COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
THIS IS OUR INTERPRETATION OF WHAT A NEW WORLD CRAFT LAGER SHOULD BE, APPROACHABLE, SESSIONABLE, BALANCED AND FLAVOURSOME. THIS BEER IS FILTERED FOR SMOOTH AND REFRESHING CRISPNESS WITH MEDUM CARBONATION. THE 100% MALTED GRAIN PROFILE IS A COMBINATION OF PILSNER, CARAPILS AND LIGHT MUNICH, WHILST THE HOP BILL INCLUDES THE NOBLE GERMAN HOP TETTNANG, AUSTRALIAN HELGA AND NZ PACIFICA. THE SWEET MALT CHARACTERS ARE BALANCED BY THE EARHTY SPICE AND FRESH CITRUS KICK AND FLORAL NOTES DERIVED FROM THE HOPS.

Bottled version brewed at Laverton until the introduction of a bottling line to the Willunga Brewery.

Maris (1574) - Canberra, AUSTRALIA - JUN 13, 2013
From a 330ml bottle on 13/6/2013. Pours a crystal clear pale yellow with a medium bright white head. Not too much in the way of aroma - just a bit of grain and a hint of fruit. The flavour surprised me - it’s actually rather pleasant. There’s quite a bit of bready malt, a touch of citrus, and a moderate dash of hops, which makes it quite refreshing. Has a light body and lively carbonation. I’ve come to expect to be disappointed by McLaren Vale beers, but it’s pleasing to see them come up with an above average pale lager. Like the label as well.

330ml bottle from BWS. Bright golden with minimal white head. Sweet malt grains dominate the nose with a subtle citrus hop presence. Taste is sickly sweet with barely there hops to provide balancing flavours (hint of citrus). Like a typical Aussie lager but superior mouthfeel than the macro breweries. Not worth the extra bucks though.

330ml bottle into schooner glass. Distant hop nose, a little bread perhaps. Clear golden beer with solid white head. A few bubbles. Cleansing bitter taste. Finish is good. Early maltiness is overtaken by increasing hop bitterness then a floral hop note right at the end. I could drink another one of these right now.

varanid99 (1316) - AUSTRALIA - AUG 29, 2013
Clear, light gold with a thin pale head, fizzy. Citrusy aroma, malt, a little bready. Taste is sweet, malty, and a bit thin. It’s ok, definitely better than a lot of Australian lagers going around

Mild ale. Yellow see through colour with little carbonation. Sweet and watery. Nice enough.

Bottle from Dan Murphy’s. Bright clear gold/yellow, no head to speak of, bready, citrusy, slightly rubbery, nothing special, quite thin/watery. Such a disappointment after their IPA, which is one of my favourite session beers.

Sweet malts & citrus aroma. Taste grapefruit & toast. Nice crisp, dry finish. Not bad. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

bmeup (680) - Ormeau, AUSTRALIA - JUN 13, 2013
Rated for what it is, a Pale Lager. Description fits the end result. Hops are quite pleasant in aroma and and malts are bready with maybe a hint of vanilla back there. Fares more then good stacked up against others, say Boags or Cascade. Nicely crafted Pale Lager.

VinegarStroke (442) - Napa, California, USA - JUN 22, 2014
Tasted 6/6: Bottle: Poor head and lace. Limited aromatic profile. Clean but neutral. hollow palate. Poor craft beer.
