COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This summer, a different kind of moon is rising across the McMenamins Empire as we proudly introduce our brand new summer seasonal, Copper Moon. After bringing you more than a decade of delicious, light, crisp, smooth-tasting, golden-colored thirst-quenchers during the hot summer months, the brewers have decided to up the ante a little bit. Copper Moon is the result. This wonderful elixir has a bit more malt quality and hop character than our previous summer seasonals, spawning a refreshing, flavorful beer that we like to identify as a Summer Pale Ale. On top of that, all of the malted barley used in every batch of Copper Moon is organically grown and malted. All of our breweries will be utilizing Great Western Malting Organic 2-row, Organic Munich Malt and Organic 60L Crystal Malt. The outcome is a smooth, flavorful summer pale ale that is made with 100% Organic grains.
The first thing you'll notice about Copper Moon is the coppery orange luminescence radiating out of the pint glass. This comes from the special combination of 3 different Organic malts in every batch. Those Organic malts also impart a flavorsome yet summery smooth sweetness that quenches your thirst at the same time as tantalizing your taste buds. The upfront hop bitterness of Copper Moon is relatively low, complementing the malts nicely without being overpowering. The hop flavor and aroma are another matter, as the Centennial and Amarillo hops used in the latter stages of each batch intermingle delightfully to generate a dazzling citrusy and flowery olfactory experience. All these things blend into a refreshing, flavorful and organic summer beer. There's a Copper Moon risin' this summer across the McMenamins Kingdom, make sure that you check it out.
Malts Used: Great Western Organic 2-row Malt, Great Western Organic Munich Malt, Great Western Organic 60L Crystal Malt Hops Used: Chinook (Bittering), Centennial (Flavor), Amarillo (Aroma).

It seems like this varies quite a bit. The version I had was very much on point. Absolutely delicious and refreshing with a good amount of citrus hops without being a hop bomb. Medium bitterness balanced by toasted malts. Medium bodied. Lovely Amber orange pour. This is one of those pales that is full of flavor but doesnt get in the way of a good night out. Would love a few more rounds.

Draught from Rock Creek Tavern - Pours a very nice copper color. It is a very nice pale ale to have on the patio in the summer. I really liked this one. This was a great beer to have after a crappy day at work. I had two, so I guess that makes it a two-beer crappy day at work.

Draught @ Roseburg Station:   Dirty golden, rather hazy, moderate white head, light lacing.   Fairly decent hoppy nose.   Somewhat surprised because on the tongue it is fairly hoppy.   Seems fresh, almost like a Harvest Ale.   Wow, this might be one of my favorite McMenamins beers if ther is such a thing.   Hoppy goodness is what I think of this.   Great Pale Ale.   Full body with a nice resiny mouthfeel.   I liked this much more than I expected.   Kinda shocked.   Ordered a second glass.   Palatable hop juice with a nice malt background.   I was told it was brewed here in Roseburg Oregon.   Hmmm, variation in the beers?   Wonder if they can make it this good back up in Seattle.

Golden-amber beer with bright white sticky head and orange-zesty hop nose. Moderately bitter taste with faint impression of sweetness, finishing lively and dry. Crisp, highly drinkable and tasty.

On tap at the Spar in Olympia, WA. Pours a slightly hazy medium copper color with a thin off-white head. The aroma was of a grassy meadow, also a bit hoppy. Good hop/malt balance and a smooth mouthfeel. This brew paired nicely with a French dip sandwich (with horseradish), and a mixed green salad.

Drinking from a Mason jar ..purchased at Thompsons In Salem Indeed this is a deep copper coloured ale..small wispy off white head. Very deep attractive and noticable aromas of caramel, nuts, resiny hop..some floral aspaects..very good aroma for a McMens. Taste? a very well balamced pale with semi-sweet malt being balanced by a nice spicy hop after taste. The palate is pretty thin..the usual McMenamins..for fast drinking. Overall a nice Pale ale for the late summer.
