COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A classic Northwest pale ale and McMenamins top selling beer. This rich chestnut colored gem is a model of harmony between hops and malted barley. Hammerhead's signature Cascade hop nose and intense hopped flavor blend nicely with the caramel tones from the crystal malt. This beer has a vocal following. To run out is an unforgivable sin. Malts: Pale Malt; Crystal Malt Hops: Cascades Specifications: Original Gravity: 1.056; Terminal Gravity: 1.010; Alcohol by Weight: 4.7% Calories/pint: 241

Draft pour pint at the brand new McMenamins Anderson School. This is officially the first beer I’ve ever had at a school. Count it!! Pours a dark cloudy copper (I think.., its dark and in a plastic cup). Sweet caramel malt aroma with a short hop. Sweet matching flavor with a biting bitter finish. I’m very impressed with this place. Less with the beer, but not bad.

Sampler from Boon’s Treasury. Medium to dark copper in color. Sweet hoppy nose with a little breadiness. Decent hoppiness with a sweet malty backbone. Light sweet finish. Some breadiness and hops. Pretty tasty pale ale.

On tap @ McMenamins Barley Mill. Hazed amber colored beer with white foam. Just a bunch of cooked grain and toast. Some grass, straw, and burnt toast. Meh. The flavor is mildly bitter and grassy. A lot of bread, toast, and caramel. Odd estery quality. Not really a fan.

Poured copper in color with a white head. Aroma of caramel malts and grassy hops and resin. Doesn’t taste as fresh as I was hoping for. Just ok.

UPDATED: MAY 1, 2017 Pretty good for a Flagship beer. It was definitely their best Pale Ale on tap today. Re-Rating 4/30/2017: 5, 4, 6, 3, 12.

UPDATED: OCT 7, 2015 "a simplistic but tasty light copper colored american pale ale. pretty by the book as well, but nice enough. refreshing and flavorful, if light and lacking in complexity." 2015 batch pretty dang boring - gotta dock it.
