Keg @ McMenamins Lighthouse. Somewhat hazy medium brown pour with a modest khaki head. Gentle toasted grain and chocolate aromas. The beer’s just a bit tart, which jars unpleasantly against smooth chocolate malt and toffee flavors. Medium body, fine carb. Not ideal. bpreo (2903) - Eugene, Oregon, USA - JAN 24, 2016
It takes a while for the nuttiness to break through, but when it does, it’s great.
Sampled at the University of Oregon campus location. Ferris (16304) - Burnaby, British Columbia, CANADA - FEB 3, 2015
Draft - Toasty malts and some buttery notes. Deep brown with alight brown head. Caramel dark malty notes with some nice rich nutty notes. Basic, but decent. UDBeernut (2883) - Saint Johns, Florida, USA - JAN 20, 2015
On tap at their roseburg, Oregon jam. Pours medium brown, passes some light. Small off white head that disappears. Mild sweetness, malt and light caramel. Minimal caracter but not terrible at the same time. douglas88 (9573) - Portland, Oregon, USA - NOV 13, 2013
On tap at Imbre Hall. Pours a clear dark copper color with a medium white head. The aroma is light nutty notes and some toast. The flavor is a bit of lactose, some mellow toasted malts, a bit of berries. Good.

From tap at the brewpub. Pours hazy dark brown with a small off-white head. Aroma is roasted dark malty and light fruity. Dark roasted malty, toasted and light caramelish. Smooth and roasted into a toffee malty finish. FROTHINGSLOSH (8069) - GREENSBURG, Pennsylvania, USA - FEB 2, 2010
Portland trip. Sampled on draft this beer poured a dark black color with a medium sized soapy tan head. The aroma was faint sweet malts. The flavor was malty, nutty, somewhat sweet and slightly bitter. Bitter finish. Medium body. Ok. SledgeJr (3577) - Omaha, Nebraska, USA - JAN 15, 2010
On tap at the Spar Cafe in Olympia. Pours a murky brown with a thin white head. Has a disgusting aroma of diacetyl. The vinegary flavor is indicative of an infection. This beer was absolutely horrible. riversideAK (6261) - Shoreline, Washington, USA - JAN 9, 2010
Nose is mostly toasted nuts with a slight hint of roast. Pours brownish red with a minimal head. The flavor is also very toasy and nutty with soft roast and underlying sweetness. Easy to drink. Very basic but not flawed. highibus (823) - Vail, Arizona, USA - DEC 23, 2009
On tap at mill creek. No aroma. Decent nutty flavor with a bit of spice. But very thin. Drinkable but I wouldn’t get again.
