Bottle. Red to Brown. Lots of sweetness. A raisiny kind. Marauding alcohol flavour. Not very well balanced.

From bottle. Looks great, pours chestnut/red/brown with thick tan head. Lots of alcohol on the aroma with some raisins and other dried fruit, tue alcohol is overpowering and unpleasant. Taste is unbalanced, lots of alcohol, some caramel malt and some dried fruit. Bitter ugly finish, not good.

I have to say that this beer has grown on me. At first, as is often the case, I can’t say I particularly enjoyed it, but now I have to restrain myself from opening the remaining three bottles I have. How will time change this fine beer? Both bitter and sweet, better than the British beers of this strength that I have tasted, it is too good to be in supermarkets!

Bottle from Sainsburys. Mahogany coloured with a decent, off-white head. sweet aroma of dried fruit, figs, dough and liquorice. Rich, molasses, spice and marzipan flavours, with more bready malts and a slightly spicy, drying finish. Very good.

Scottrf (105) - Bedfordshire, ENGLAND - SEP 28, 2011
500ml bottle, Sainsburys. Very dark reddy brown, little head. Raisin, chocolate smell. Not overly hoppy or malty. Sharp and rich, can detect alcohol, spiritlike afterfeel. Little too harsh for my liking.

Bullit (4637) - Burgos, SPAIN - SEP 28, 2011
Bottle from Sainsburys. Amber colour, off-white head. Nose is malty, nutty, bit of brown sugar and molasses. Flavour is malty and nutty, slightly alcoholic. Slightly sweet and fruity strong ale. Medium bodied and alcoholic finish. I can see why people like this, but it’s not really to my liking.
