Leighton (19178) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - OCT 27, 2016
Bottle at home in London - sourced from Sainsburys way back when they did one of those beer promotions; this beer is BBE August 2013. So, pretty old. Pours a rather fetching amber-ruby with a creamy, khaki head. The aroma holds ripening berries, brown bread, fruit leather, plum. Medium sweet flavour with some hearty brown bread, more plums, dates, berries, faint earthy hops, strawberry. Medium to full bodied with fine carbonation. Lightly warming in the finish with a bit of sticky sugar, more ripe berries, some toffee, grapes, earth, leather, raisins. Overall, this is a pretty damn solid strong English ale. Nice work.

rand (1490) - SWITZERLAND - AUG 30, 2014
Bottle 500 ml from PS. Dark red brown ale, fine ivory head. Malted aromas, chocolate, raisin, molasses and banana. There is taste of Christmas Cake, spices, stewed fruits and licorice. Notes of almond, chestnut and alcohol. A rich beer, however without excess sugar and with an adequate measure of bitterness in the finish.

BlackHaddock (6550) - Shropshire, ENGLAND - AUG 4, 2013
500ml Bottle: BBD end of Aug 2013, poured into an Abbot Ale glass tankard on 4th Aug 2013, at home. Ruddy brown body with a good, full head of tan coloured foam. The nose is of dark fruits and malty molasses. The taste is moist fruit cake and extra sweet malts with a mild liquorice undertone. Rich and heavy in the body, hides the alcohol nicely: this is an armchair and coal fire sort of brew, a Winter Warmer!
