COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Firehouse is an immensely drinkable amber that has served as McNeill’s flagship beer for fifteen years. A citrus nose blends with notes of caramel and raisins to make this stand out beer with a full red color.

Bottle from Vermont poured into pint glass. Poured hazy amber color with little head. Smelled of hops, citrus and caramel. Smooth taste, mostly caramel, but nothing really stands out much. Decent beer.

Reviewed from notes. This was poured into a pint glass. The appearance was a murky semi-dark burnt amber to red color. Quickly dissipating finger’s worth of bubbly (with slight foam), and no lace. The aroma had some sweet cooked corn edged with sharp burnt cake batter, weird. The flavor was sharp burnt sweet cake batter with an extremely soapy aftertaste and finish. Got extremely hard to put the rest down my throat. On the palate, not as sessionable as one would like for an amber ale, that soapy feel is smooth - I’ll give it that, but who wants spaciness to smooth out a beer. Low carbonation. Overall, wow, what an awful beer. Really think McNeil’s should toss in the towel. Can’t hang in this state anymore and nor the business.

Pours a nice amber color with a medium white head. Mild hoppy aroma somewhat resiny. Malty at the front with a well balanced hoppiness leaving a nice hoppy aftertaste. Def a good canned beer.

Beau nez houblonné résineux avec un corps soutenue et une finale amère et bien balancée. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle pour. Caramel is heavy in this amber that lacked an appropriate amount of head formation for me.

On tap. Reddish-orange pour. Carmel, malt aroma and caramel malt flavor. Okay beer.
