Dark brown/black with only thin white ringing head. Roasted chocolate aroma. Smoked oatmeal, coffee flavor. Thin palate for a stout. whaleman (2178) - North Wales, Pennsylvania, USA - JAN 26, 2006
Thanks egajdzis. Rusty dark brown body with an oily and minimal reddish tan head. Aroma of espresso, dark chocolate, abundant roast, and roasted marshmallows. Starchy oatmeal, coffee, roasted barley, and sweet dark rum flavor. Starch approaches jaw-stiffening levels. Tasty though. hopdog (13191) - Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA - JAN 26, 2006
Sampled from 22oz bottle provided by egajdzis. Poured a dark black with red edges and a very small sized off white head. Aromas of oatmeal, chocolate and roasted malts. For a lack of description, it pretty much had an overall sweet smell to it. Tastes of oatmeal, roast, light coffee and anise. Thinner body. TomDecapolis (4636) - Milton, Delaware, USA - JAN 25, 2006
Thanks to egajdzis. Pours a dark, dark brown with a very small bubbly off white head. Aroma of oatmeal, cocoa and light coffee. Flavors of the same.

Black in color with a large tan head. Aroma of roasted malt, chocolate. Flavor is of burnt-bitter malt, roasted malt and chocolate with subtle fruit and a little oxidation.Rich and meaty. rederic (3344) - montréal, Quebec, CANADA - AUG 9, 2005
Opaque black color, with a creamy tan-colored head, with a sweet mocha and chocolate aroma, dark malt, roasted malt, hint of cacao in the nose, follows through on a medium-bodied palate with a roasted malt, dark coffee, burnt toast, with a smooth dark character, leading to a soft dark roasted bitterness finish. Pretty good stout, but way too thin for an oatmeal stout. I was expecting tons of body, a meal in a bottle from this one, and it did not deliver. Still, enjoyable with good roasted flavor. CamdenD (1204) - Madrid, SPAIN - JUL 16, 2005
Another stunning beer from McNeill’s. This sweet stout just impresses all the way through. Smooth and delicious, this creamy stout is fulfilling without relying on chocolate undertones and strays towards coffee/toffee instead. Nice.
