Thanks to jjpm74 for this beer. Pours a dirty brown with small head. Sweet malty nose wth touch of sour and tartness. Flavor is certainly sour and probably a bit oxidized...but still and interesting beer with a different malt character. Not great, but certainly different. Thanks! mar (5436) - Dallas, Texas, USA - JUN 9, 2008
bottle from jjpm74. nice ruby pour with a thick head that dissipates pretty quickly. very sweet malt smell. the flavor is very tart and it lingers on quite a while. kind of like i was drinking strawberry jelly. RomanW70 (296) - Providence, Rhode Island, USA - MAY 27, 2008
Big thanks to Jay for sharing this. Pours medium brown with a medium tan head. Very malty arom wioth notes of butter, whisky, and nuts. Fairly smooth through the finish. This is a fairly feesh bottle, and has none of the sourness recent ratings have noted. This was a solid Old Ale. tjthresh (1875) - Greenfield, Indiana, USA - MAY 11, 2008
22 ounce bottle from jjpm74. Pours slightly hazed, dark red, with a tightly bubbled dirty white head. The nose a bit like cookies, with a bit of sourness and oxidation. WOW!!! THIS IS SOUR! No, I"m not happy about it. It tastes like a kriek brewed with Marris Otter and some caramel malts. Not something I’m really enjoying drinking. Medium/light body. High, prickly carbonation. Dry, tart finish. Oh well. dmac (6429) - Toms River, New Jersey, USA - APR 8, 2008
22 oz bomber from BeerTruth, thanks Adam. Okay where to begin with this one? Yes it was infected, really infected at that. The infection was great on the aroma not so much on the flavor. My rating is for the beer I drank, regardless of style since I am not a beer judge. Poured a murk brown amber with a huge pillowy head, thank you infection. The aroma was sour fruit, mostly cherries, funkiness and some wet wood, thank you infection.(If you told me this was a sour ale or a lambic I would have not doubted it). Flavor starts off with a slight bit of sourness that quickly fades and turns into earthy dirt, band aid and medicine followed up by the slightest touch of metallicness, God Damn you infection. I know this is by no means what the brewer intended with this beer but it was still drinkable and enjoyable, well as long as you weren’t looking for it to be correct to style.

Bottle. This should be called Old Infected. This was a very stunning beer to look at. Shimmery clear copper/gold color with medium fizzy head and lively carbonation. The look of this beer gave no indication what was to come. Sour funky aroma with sour funky taste. Some light sweet caramel notes tried to survive but they were no match for the infection. crizay (1050) - Brook Park, Ohio, USA - DEC 25, 2007
Hazy dark amber pour, medium white head. Aroma is sour and caramel with some plastic going on also. Flavor is sour, some sweetness from the caramel and even a hint of chocolate in the background then a metallic plastic taste comes through that shouldn’t be there. The aftertaste is metallic and the sourness upfront shouldn’t be there. This bottle has to be infected and is getting dumped down the drain. Nate (4279) - Indiana, Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 9, 2007
Bottled. Smooth malty aroma wih caramel, biscuit, and some raisin. Mild bitter dusty nose, with a Brett-like earthiness. Light alcohol and sweet. Deep amber-brown hazy with off-white foamy lacing head. Medium-thick body with medium carbonation. Starts with biscuit, raisin, and caramel. Dry bitterness, with a light astringency in the finish. Quite a bitter finish, orange peel, alcohol. dpjuart (1112) - Indiana, Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 8, 2007
Bomber courtesy of Nate, shared with Nate and ’Naka. Pours brown with red hues. Touch of astringent nose, malt, sweet chocolate and some alcohol. Chocolate notes, a bit thin, but with an interesting bitter end. Some atringency. Subtle warming. goldtwins (4320) - Nesconset, New York, USA - SEP 30, 2007
Poured a slightly hazed amber color with an off-white head. The aroma had some nice milk chocolate notes but also a plasticy phenolic character as well. The flavor was malty with a mild hoppy and bitter finish.
