Nothing especially amazing about this beer. It is good, but it is fairly unremarkable.

From old tasting notes. Labeled as "McSorleys Double Dark Ale". Deep, dark reddish brown color topped by a huge rocky tan head. Charcoal, roasted malt flavor hints at Worcestershire sauce. Dry malt finish. Good flavor.

On draft at McSorleys Ale House in NYC. The "dark" poured in glass mug, half filled with foam, standard for the bar. Toasty aroma with mild malty flavor and watery palate. Not offensive and easy to session.

Pours a amber-brown. Has a malty and caramel aroma. A dark malt taste with caramel and grains. Lingering dry malt aftertaste. Very simple.

Well, better than the pale. Tastes weak. Nice subtle malt profile? Goes well with saltines...cool bar.

Drank on St Pattys day in Chicago 2012 -- A pretty good black lager, pleasant color, aroma, flavor. Nothing crazy good, but solid. Irish Pub beverages for sure.
